VISION DOCUMENT
1. Problem
Daniel Cox and Jack Greig had been working as suppliers in an auto parts business in
Australia. It is being observed that the present warehouse management system does not have
the ability of handling high dynamic processes, which could help in moving or storing
inventories at low expenses and high efficiency (Atieh et al., 2016). For this purpose, Daniel
Cox and Jack Greig have taken the decision of developing a completely new auto parts
warehouse management system, in which the functions could be effectively applied in the
core processes of warehouse and that has capability to transform the entire warehouse into
competitive advantages. They want the new warehouse management system to have
distinctive functions and would be providing some of the most significant operations for the
business.
2. Capabilities
The new auto parts warehouse management system would be comprising of some of
the major and the most distinctive capabilities. Daniel Cox and Jack Greig are expecting the
new system to perform several functionalities. The first and the foremost capability is
controlling inventories (Ding, 2013). It is the procedure to ensure that only correct amount of
stock is being maintained by the respective business and hence having the core capability of
meeting customer’s demands without any type of delays, during preservation of the expenses
that are solely associated with the holding stocks to the lowest. The second distinct capability
of this auto parts warehouse management system is receiving each and every kind of order.
Since they are dealing with auto parts, it is extremely important for them to receive orders.
With the variety of orders, they would be able to expand their business majorly.
Another significant capability of the warehouse management system is processing of
orders. It is needed for better understanding as well as processing of the orders (Faber, De
