INTRODUCTIONVisitor attraction management is known as a discipline which is not complete yet assistgovernment and its agencies in researching about various factors that are related with attractionof a place. It is basically used for ensuring that all the sites and places are attractive enough to getright number of visitor in a time period. Basically, it is very hard to understand as how travellerstake decision regarding travelling to various location (Barros and et. al., 2011). That is whydifferent government and private organisations are indulged in research as to understand thetrend or flow of market. This report is based on the national agency Visit Britain which takevarious actions to attract more tourist to UK. The aim of the organisation is to develop essentialfacilities around various sites as to ensure that visitors are satisfied. In this project, variousstrategies used by agency to address issues are stated. TASK 11.1 Overlapping of visitor’s attraction in relation to various other types of attractionOverlapping of visitor’s attractionAs stated by Britain's own national tourism agency, 'Visit Britain', there are numerous factorsthat keeps on overlapping flow of visitors to different sites. This makes it more important forgovernment and various private agencies to evaluate market trends to understand the scope ofvisitor attraction. Till this date, different researches have been conducted as to define rightfactors behind the rise and fall in the number of tourists. A perfect visitor attraction (place) hasall the right ingredients that are required to attract visitors to a certain area. There are differenttypes of factors that attracts travellers towards a site, such as, cultural heritage, adventure,amusement, religion or even historical importance of the place. It is very vital to analyse thetrends that are prevalent in tourism market as this will assist agencies in preparing for the flowof tourist. There are different ways of attracting visitors that are as follows:Natural Attraction: These are the places which are god made and they were built overa period of time. Mostly, travellers visit these locations to get away from polluted andnoisy environment and be in environment which is more silent and beautiful. Most ofthese sites are reserved as to protect them against any harmful activity and only aspecified number of tourist are allowed to go there. Hyde park is one of the best example1

of a natural attraction in UK. Also, river Thames act as an attraction point in the eyes oftravellers. They represent our evolution as well as historicalvalues. These places are in there from many years and they are protected by authorities.Some of the examples of it are, Buckingham palace, railways, canals, Stone Henge, etc. People Made Attractions: These are the sites which were built by man for fulfilling hisown desires and wants. Also, government and other agencies build such sites to attractmore tourist to destinations. They are highly amusing for travellers and provides greatsatisfaction level to them. There are different examples of it such as, British Museum,London Tower, Alton Tower, Victoria and Albert museum, etc. The ground behindstructuring these museums was simple, government wanted people to know the culturaland historical richness human kind had. These places have more than 90 million piecesof artefacts. 2

They are usually related to music,literature and sports. Edinburgh, the Scottish capital is city of festivals and attracts morethan 5 million traveller each year. These are the different types of attractions that overlap flow of tourism in the country. All theagencies need to analyse various factors as to ensure that the impact can be directed in positiveway so that maximum tourist can be attracted. 1.2 Significance of various types of visitor attractionsImportance of Visitor AttractionIt is very important for government to allure more and more travellers to the various sites andevents available in country. Being a consultant to National Tourism Agency Visit Britain, it isvery essential to analyse various factors as to improve facilities and other additional elements toenhance inbound as well as international tourism. UK is a rich country when it comes toattraction availability, also they are able to cater to the needs of travellers. There are variousreasons which makes visitor attraction more important to the agencies and tourism industry.They are stated below:It enhances domestic as well as international tourism in UKIt assists in building facilities around sites that attract travellers more. Improves contribution of tourism in national economic growth. Boost promotion of diversity and changes in societyReserves, preserves and protects heritage of a place. Left out areas are able to growThe purpose of using visitor attraction management is to tantalise more travellerstowards sites available in UK. With the rise in the activities related to travel and tourism, theimpact of industry is rising in British economy. Basically, tourism brings in development whichassist other sectors in growing at the same time. Various events in the past have added morevalue to the economy as well as physical development of different areas. Victoria and AlbertMuseum, Science Museum were made-up to attract various types of tourist. The formerorganisation is known to display cultural values while other one is known to display inventionsand other innovation that took place till today. While Hyde park is developed to attract eventorganisers and supporting parties. 4
