INTRODUCTION
Visitor attraction management is considered to be as one of the most complex part
of the tourism sector. It is the part of tourism sector which emphasizes on development of the
tourism infrastructure as well as services. It can also be defined as a place where tourist mainly
visits because of the inherited historical as well as cultural value of the place. The main purpose
of visitors management is to attract the visitors and positively influence them to make frequent
visits.
The report will have focus on identification of the two key issues which are effecting the
development of visitors attractions such as location, sourcing of funding and relationship with
stakeholders. Study will include the procedure involved in planning as well as development of
visitor attraction.

The most crucial factor for tourist attraction is the experience which tourist intends to
gain. Key issues which has effected the development of visitors attractions are :
Environment at destination : In context of Tourism, changes in the environmental factors have
significant effect on business. Due to the bad weather condition, the travel and tourism company
at specific location is facing the challenge in supplying the products or services to customers. In
addition to this, heavy rain or occurrence of natural disaster damage the historical as well as
other tourist places (Kumar, 2018). The travel and tourism companies in specific destination
faces the issues in maintaining the quality of their products or services due to adverse effect of
the environment. In addition to this, firms in travel and tourism sector is facing issue in
maintaining its concentration on core business functions that is visitors attraction management
due to increase in competition within an industry (Mchunu and Theron, 2018. ). In addition to
this, tour and travel company in UK and South Africa are facing the issues in adjusting their
Quality standards according to the state of environment. Due to continuous changes in the
weather conditions, many of enterprises in travel and tourism sector is facing the issues in
providing the good experience to customers constantly which has lead to the high level of
dissatisfaction in customers. In addition to this, it is the factor which has lead to the great decline
in the sales and profitability of an enterprise. The changes in the environmental law done by the

government has created the intense pressure on the travel and tourism companies. New
environmental laws which has implemented by government has created immense pressure on the
tour and travel company related to brining improvement in the business procedures.
Economy of the nation : It includes the changes in economic conditions of the nations,
availability of sources of funds, inflations, increase or decrease in tax or exchange rate etc.
Changes in the economic factors have direct as well as significant influence on the profitability
of the companies operating business in travel and tourism industry. In context of UK, the
economic downturn after the Brexit has lead to the great decline in the sales and profitability of
firm operating business in travel and tourism sector (Mowforth and Munt, 2015.). The political
instability in country due to the Brexit has restricted the investment flow with in the nation, as
many of the financial investor has fear of loss. The decline in the investment flow in the country
has adversely effected the growth of travel and tourism. Therefore, travel and tourism enterprise
is facing the issue in sourcing the funds which is required for development as well as
management of tourist places (Korstanje, 2018.).
2. Identification of the procedure involved in the planning as well as development of the visitor
attractions.
Planning is considered to be as creating a road map or development of tactics in order to
accomplish desired aims and objectives. The main benefit of planning is that it assists in
reducing the chances of risk as well as helps an enterprise in preparing itself for the unforeseen
circumstances. The master plan for a destination also vary according to the destination which is
to be developed.
The procedure of the tourism development plan includes the following :
Tourism demand analysis: It is the initial procedure of destination planning procedure which
includes analysis of the demand related to the specific products or services. Tourist demand
analysis includes market analysis which is conducted by travel and tourism companies in order to
examine the total number of visitors which has arrived at particular destinations during particular
year. It is the activity which also includes analysis of travelling pattern as well as trends in travel
and Tourism sector (Tung, Tang and King, 2018). In context of tourism demand analysis, during
the continuous changes bin travelling pattern as well as demands by the tourist tour and travel
enterprise is facing issue in developing the feasible plan for destinations. In addition to this,

changes in the travel pattern an enterprise is facing the issue in setting the goals for destination
plan. In addition to this, as due tom lack of understanding about the importance of tourism, the
travel and tourism company is facing issue in involving the local people in the destination
planning procedure. In context of due to the changes in travel pattern and improper management
of tourist arrival record, tour operators companies are facing the difficulty in determining the
future arrival of tourist (Benur and Bramwell, 2015).
Tourism supply chain analysis : Such types of analysis, includes examination of the destination
itself. In this phase of the planning, the various factors such as attractivenesses,
accommodations, transportations facilities etc. which can be provides to tourist are been
considered. Ass transportation, infrastructure, accommodations facilities and other factors have
great effect on the quality of visitor attractions. It is the factor which also have significant
influence on the destination planning. The factors which are required to be considered by the
travel and tourism company includes assessment of a new development for a previously
undeveloped area, site selection is an important element and the analysis will examine various
Notes 12 locations or sites for proposed hotels and commercial buildings. In context of Self-
contained resort destination, the travel as well as travel company is required to considered the
following factors these are desirability of the climate (Veal, 2017). Relationship of site,
attractiveness of physical environment, availability of land for development, adequate
transportation etc. In context of destination planning, the travel and tourism might have to face
the issues in developing the team which is required for development as well as implementation
of destination plan due to lack of local workforce (Bærenholdt, Haldrup and Urry, 2017). In
addition to this, the negative attitude of resident population towards the tourism development has
created the major barriers in the destination planning by travel and tourism companies in UK.
Tourism impact analysis: Such type of analysis includes examination of the carrying capacity
of the destinations which defines the environmental as well as physical limits and availability of
destinations to accommodate given level of visitors with the latest destruction of the natural
resources. In context of destination planning, there are two concerns which are faced by the
travel and tourism companies at specific destination such UK includes social cultural impact
which is creating the pressure (Arshad, Iqbal and Shahbaz,2018.). The local people are not

3. Analysing as well as comparing the visitors' management strategy at one of the Local visitor
attraction

reducing the adverse effect of tourism on protected areas such as resorts are:
Management of supply of tourism visitors opportunities : Travel and tourism company in UK has

identify the new source of income. In addition to this, they are required to concentrate on
promoting the destination which will assist them in generating the revenue that could be further
utilised for development of tourist place. In addition to this, travel and tourism can seek
financial support from government. Travel and tourism companies in UK by developing the
innovative ideas can attract the investors and influence them to make investment. In addition to
this, travel and tourism companies in UK can seek financial support from other industries in
the nation. As all these techniques will help travel and tourism companies in getting the ease in
sourcing the funds required for developing as well as managing tourist destination.
In context of social factor, travel and tourism companies are required to keep themselves
updates with the social changes taking place at global level, as it is the strategy which will help
them develop an effective plan for management of visitors attraction (Mowforth and Munt,
2015).
