INTRODUCTION
Tourist destination management is the major source of revenue
generation for the government and the for maintaining the cultural
heritage of the country. The government is playing important role in
development of tourism industry and the management of visitor
attraction. The tourist attractions are the destination which allows
the people to visit and entrain, educate or access their interest
related to culture, heritage of the country.

The stages in development of visitor attractions
The development of the visitor attraction is important step for
management and development of attraction according top the
needs and types of visitors. The process of development of of
visitors attraction involves six steps defined in Butler Model. The
stages of development of new destination are:
 The Exploration stage
 The involvement stage
 Development stage
 Consolidation stage
 Stagnation stage
 Rejuvenation stage or decline stage

The involvement stage:
 Local communities are being enhanced in enhancing the
tourism.
 Development of secondary facilities like hotels, restaurant
etc.
 Government involvement is there for development of
transportation facilities in the region.

Consolidation stage:
 Tourism contribute in the regional economy of the visitor
attraction.
 Involvement of various tourism company to grab the
profitably from huge tourist base.
 Recreation in the type of business carried out in the place.

The stagnation stage may be followed by the rejuvenation stage or
the decline stage by the visitor attraction depending upon the
resources and management strategies developed by the national
tourism agency VisitBritain.

Issues related to development of visitor attraction
 Conservation and protection of resources of natural and man
made attractions.
 The tourism development is involved in the accommodation
and hospitality facilities for the visitors.
