1. Vulnerabilities in the old network:
With the Visor network diagram that has been provided, the following vulnerabilities
have been identified to have affected the operations at the remote site (Ma, Song and Li
2017). The identified vulnerabilities are,
i) Presence of T1 bandwidth from the ISP that provides with slow bandwidth.
ii) VPN server that is outdated and only provides network access from home.
iii) Windows 2000 file server that is outdated and does not provide enough security to
the files and documents.
iv) Cisco 2950 switch that offers limited connections to it, eliminating chances of an
upgrade.
v) Presence of a Windows 2000 web server that is outdated and not equipped with
recent technologies to support updates and might result in software or hardware
failures.
vi) Windows 2003 domain controller that is not secure and security patches need to
be installed separately that can again result in network failures.
vii) Presence of Windows SharePoint server that provides with a minimal amount of
security to the files being shared on the platform and does not provide protection
against the latest cyber threats.
viii) Switched off windows automatic updates that keep the computer outdated and low
on security levels.
ix) Windows XP installed on the computers that do not support the latest versions of
software that might be required by the employees to work.
x) No presence of a firewall to maintain the security of the network's entry point.

xi) No presence of cloud for backing up data, instead of the presence of a local
storage system that might get hampered with time and resulting in permanent loss
of data.
