Implementation of Voice Recognition Technology in Melbourne Private Tours_1

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Information technologies are the major aspects for every type of business such as
education, finance industry, engineering, tours and travels etc. In the absence of technology, a
business cannot proceed in successful environment. The current report includes the
implementation of voice recognition technology in the Melbourne private tours, Australia. An
effective execution and implementation plan have been prepared. On the basis plan, it has been
found that respective company would incur expected amount on the implementation of new
wireless voice recognition technology. The estimations are based on the pre and post cost,
schedule and resource structures of the Melbourne tours.

INTRODUCTION
Information system is an important part for the businesses to achieve the effectiveness of
implementation of tools and techniques in the project. Information system refers to the
application of automated system which included the machines, equipment, people and processing
methods for the projects (Chen and et al., 2010; Laudon and Laudon, 2015). In this regard, the
current report is based on the incorporation of voice recognition technology in Melbourne private
tours, Australia. For this purpose, a project plan has been prepared which includes the several
estimated structures such as cost, time and resources for the implementation and execution of
technology. Further, Gantt and Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) has been
applied for the effective calculations of data related to voice recognition technology.
PROJECT PLAN
Overview of the voice recognition technology and organization
Voice recognition is computer embedded technology which is based on the software
programs or associated with hardware devices and possess an ability to decode the human voice
(Bala and et al., 2010; Lee and et al., 2012). This technology is frequently used to provide
commands and operate the device. These functions can take place without using a keyboard,
pressing any button and mouse etc. In this context, in 1952 an Automatic Speech Recognition
(ASR) software program was implemented to convert the voice of customers into text (Computer
Hope, 2018). For instance, the users can directly speak on the google software that they want to
book a travel trip for the particular destination, then the voice recognition technology will
automatically detect the voice and convert into text format for the respective person. In this
manner, there would be minimum mistakes due to spoken format. Further, it is used in many
industries such as tours and travels, military, healthcare, telecommunications and personal
computing etc. (Brooks, 2010; Basu and et al., 2010). To assess the benefits of voice recognition
technologies, a plan has been prepared to incorporate the ‘voice recognition’ technologies for a
major tourist attraction of Melbourne private tours along a major Australian highway. According
to case study, currently, the organization is not associated with any wireless technology to
identify the voice of the customers; however, the company is focusing on the implementation of

voice recognition technology to enhance the collaboration with passengers and deal with vast
amount of traffic over the wireless technology infrastructure.
The assumptions of implementation of voice recognition for the tour operator of Australia
can be as follows to attract the large number of customers-
Updated new core systems- The Melbourne private tour has a desire to engage with the
new updated technology in voice recognition to enhance the customer’s gathering at
Australia highway. The organization was not using the software-based techniques to
decode the voice before commencement of the new technique. In this regard, the new
software base techniques would be helpful to convert the voices into text at high traffic
area.
Availability of skilled employees- The company has skilled employees to operate the
advanced technologies in the travelling and tours sector. As per the case, the company
has 1000 employees, out of them many of workers are professionals in the IT field and
they have a capability to operate the varied systems from the remote locations. In this
context, the implementation of new technology would be cost-effective for the
Melbourne private tours organization because it already has skilled and competent
employees who are ready to adopt the changes conveniently. Moreover, the company
does not have need to train the employees to provide instructions regarding new
approach.
Sound wireless technology infrastructure- As mentioned in the case study that
Melbourne private tours company has a strong base of the technological infrastructure
which is helpful to incorporate the new voice recognition technology. In this regard, the
company would not have to spent excess money to create the framework for the
application of advanced voice recognition technique.
Development of voice recognition technique for local as well as remote customers-
The Melbourne private tours and travel organization has an intention to develop the
technology to handle local along with remote potential clients. This scenario can take
place through integration of the voice technology with advanced one because it provides
the additional functions to collaborate with existing as well as prospective customers.
