The above link elaborates regular actions of the geology as well as solar
system on the surface of the earth ST3-10ES-S.
Examine the impacts of abrupt variations in geology and great
events of weather on surface of earth, for instance;
o Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis.
o floods, drought, cyclones, and storms
Examine methods which advances technology and science to help
individuals in planning for and managing natural disaster to reduce
their impacts on environment, for instance,
o Construction and design of roads and buildings.
o Systems for detecting tsunamis.
o − Fire warning systems and digital flood.
Building the field
1. While in class we watched a video clip on natural disaster which
acted as our lesson ́s introduction. Learners were engaged in
debate on the video ́s theme. What are some of the types of natural
disaster? Use the response of the students to make a wall of word.

2. Earthquake-characteristic actions: The learners need to personally
read the journal “
earthquake” by Starter Teach that was given to
the student via Google. The features of earthquake were shared to
everyone in the class. For instance, earthquake happens when earth
surface ́s tectonic plates move apart.
3. The following are some of the questions which the students will
answer about earthquake;
1. When do Earthquakes happen?
2. Why the regions earthquake occurs are known as epicentre?
3. Is it possible for a scientist to foretell where and when the
earthquake shall happen? Why/why not?
4. How significant are the seismographs in recording the magnitude
of the earthquakes?
5. State whether the below are false or true.

Supported Reading
A repot information is the kind of text which I intend to employ for
supporting reading. I selected the book “
The science of Natural Disaster
by Alex Woolf (2018). This book have several natural disaster like
volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquake. This notifies the audience of the
frequently frightening power for natural disaster and how the science can
be employed to foretell the occurrence of disaster and aid in prevention of
these disaster.
The Science of Natural Disasters by Alex Woolfe (2018)
This book is much applicable term unit ́s work because the leaners are
given several kinds of natural disaster as well as their relations to the

surface of the earth. The eruption of volcanoes sends out ash clouds as
well as molten lava rivers. The earthquake shakes up the land mass
which then destroys the buildings and also sparks harmful fire. The
coastal communities were destroyed due to the tsunamis- enormous
ocean waves-cash on the shore. The book “
The science of Natural
disaster” gives a vital info which can help the students in developing their
knowledge and learning via its several kinds of natural disasters. The
reading of this book makes the student to find out, question, collect and
observe info on several kinds of natural catastrophes.
This text help the student in some ways like in groups and undertaking
guided readings, entire class setting. This is due to some learners may
need additional support and guidance, classes was divided in six group for
the six books (each group one book). In these groups I could have 2
groups to do a research on volcanoes, 2 groups on earthquake while the
remaining on Tsunamis. Every group needs to read via work
collaboratively and study on individually for their particular type of natural
disaster. Every group was to use an iPad so as to have Google slide
access and be capable of adding more info to their Google slides while
conducting their research. During the presentation, members could
highlight some keywords and give the answers to the questions the
audience might ask on natural disaster. This action encourages
development of skills like scanning for info, skimming, comprehension,
fluency and vocabulary.
