Introduction
Public health can be defined as the science of improving and protecting the health aspects of
people who are suffering from any type of disease. The improvement in health can be achieved by
promoting the healthy life style and preventing injury and also by controlling the infectious disease.
The present report will discuss diabetes as the health issue faced by the people living in Waltham
forest. There are various social determinants which are been linked to this health issue such as life
style factor, economic stability, education, health care access. It will lay emphasis on demographic
profile of Waltham Forest.

It has been evaluated from the research that around 16000 people above the age of 17 has
been diagnosed with Diabetes type 1. Also there are 6000 residents who have been living in
Waltham Forest without being diagnosed for this condition and basically for diabetes type 2. (Taylor
and et.al., 2019). It has also been analysed that most of the people who have been facing problem of
diabetes are of south Asian ethnicity. Most of the pregnant women in Waltham forest suffers from
gestational diabetes. They have also been suffering from this disease because of the obesity. There
are so many people who are obese and going through the problem of diabetes. The mortality rate in
Waltham forest has also increased because of this as diabetes leads to other more severe disease
such as cardio-vascular. Mostly the people who are suffering from diabetes are of older age. This has
affected their health outcome.
