In this specializedapplication, users have a centralized system where through the help of an interfacemanagement tasks are managed. This can be done on a simple hand held devices such astablet or smart phones. This system allows a manager to run the warehouse in an easy andefficient manner and thus ensuring minimal losses. The real gain is perceived in the customerservice. A warehouse management system basically does the following things. First one isreceiving goods. It is a very simple process which is followed during immediate handling of ashipment which means it has arrived just now (QStock Inventory, 2018). This managementsystem also involves several processes such as shipping, receiving and also integrates withother system in supply chain. The main function of the first system is to ensure that allshipments are handled with care for ensuring losses are minimum. The second one is trackinginventory. This is one of the important functions to manage. This system as the namesuggests keeps a track of the inventory. This helps the supervisors to know when the stock isnearly finished and when to order more products (Laudon & Laudon, 2016). This is done toprevent shortages. Additionally, overstocking is prevented. Smooth warehouse managementis ensured s resources become well distributed. The third system is slotting for efficiency.This system allows the supervisors to create a model for efficient storing of products such asdifferentiating products based on weight and demand. The system is intelligent and thisensures faster movement of products within the premises as heavier products are stocked nearthe door and also products that are frequently used together are stored in close proximitythereby ensuring efficient and easy running of the warehouse (Atieh et al., 2016).
