System Vision Document
The Warehouse Management System is a system used for managing warehouse operation and
make it possible to manage all the operation related to buying and delivery of the online goods.
The also perform functionalities of the distributed system.
Problems
The system faces some issue related to warehouse and its operation. The problems can be
categorized on the basis of the requirement of the system which includes:
Accuracy of Inventory
The basic problem occurs in the Warehouse Management System is for accuracy of inventory
items. The warehouse management system is inefficient to handle inventory while performing
ordering function (Zhao, Fang, Huang & Zhang. (2017). The situation arises when the system
unable to fetch correct information related to order. This will result into inaccurate picking or
inaccurate delivery.
Fluctuation in the system
As per Stough. (2017), tThe Warehouse Management System faces problem of fluctuation
during the high number of orders. The fluctuation occurs when the number of orders increases in
the particular time. The multiple orders make system difficult to understand. The system doesn’t
work on prioritization of orders so when the multiple requests are made from the system by users
then the system can loss the flow then the system ca misbehave and error can eb generated.
Time management
The managing the time very important as the users are given with the particular time and delay in
the delivery can dissatisfy the customer. The user always wants the order to be deliver fast. The
time management for packing the order, picking the order and delivering the order need to be
fast as according to the expected time given to users.
Redundant Processes
The system can face problem of redundancy of the process. The there can be multiple node
handles the particular order multiple times which cause redundancy in the request. This will
increase the time for solving the problem and also increase wastage of other resources (Zhou &
Fei. 2016).
There are other different problems faces by the system such as poor layout, issue with the storage
or less storage, lack of cooperation between departments, etc. The system can be optimized and
these issues can be resolved by different technique which will increase the cost and complexity
of the system.
