Waste Management: Classification, Importance, and Best Practices_2

INTRODUCTION
Waste Management is also referred as waste disposal which includes the activities and
actions that are mandatory to manage waste from its collection to its final disposal. The
process consists of collection of waste, transportation, treatment and final disposal of waste
which takes place under proper monitoring and regulation according to the waste related
laws, technologies and economic mechanisms. Waste can be classified into solid waste,
liquid waste and gaseous waste and each type of waste has a different method of disposal and
management consisting of household, industrial and biological waste as well (Das and et.al.,
2019).
TASK 1
Answer the following in relation to List of Waste classification system
1. Explain the classification system of List of Waste.
The waste is classified into five types-
Liquid Waste
Liquid waste is usually discovered both in families as well as in enterprises. This
waste incorporates messy water, natural liquids, wash water, waste cleansers and
even rainwater. The liquid waste can be classified into point and non-point source
waste. All fabricated liquid waste is classified as point source waste. Then again,
common liquid waste is classified as non-point source waste.
Solid waste
Solid waste is commonly found in households, industrial and commercial locations.
These include plastic waste, paper, tins, ceramics and glass (Chandra ed., 2016).
Organic waste
Organic waste is another normal household. All food waste, garden waste, compost
and spoiled meat are classified as organic waste. Over the long run, organic waste is
transformed into compost by microorganisms. In any case, this doesn't imply that you
can arrange them anyplace.
Recyclable waste
Recyclable waste incorporates all waste things that can be changed over into items
that can be utilized once more. Strong things like paper, metals, furniture and organic
waste would all be able to be reused.
Hazardous waste
Hazardous waste includes all type waste which is dangerous for the environment.
These include flammable, toxic, corrosive and reactive.
2. Explain the importance of effective waste management.
There are various benefits of an effective waste management. The benefits are
enumerated below-
