WASTE MANAGEMENT
Chapter 1: Introduction
Waste management has been an important part in the food industries. Food industry has
been facing a lot of problems related to cleanliness and wastage of food. A huge amount of food
are wasted due to several factors including extra food and rotten food. Therefore, food waste
management has been an option to maintain a keen approach in the reducing wastages of food.
The use of waste management system in the food industry have been creating revolution
minimizing food waste (Wild, 2017). Therefore, this project has focused on stock management
of Service Food Ltd. There has been problem identified in the inventory system of the
organization. This report has been focused on improvement of inventory control system for
reducing stock management related problem (Muller, 2019). The problems in the stock
management has been discussed in the research. Data has been collected from both primary and
secondary method of collection.
Inventory management has been an act of tracking stocked goods and items available in
the organization. The use of different inventory system has been depended on the stock
availability in the system. A poor inventory system can led to waste of goods and decrease in
sales of the company. Therefore, for reducing this issue in the company a proper planning has
been done in order to maintaining proper inventory control system (Gallino, Moreno &
Stamatopoulos, 2016). There have been both quantitative and qualitative method used in the
research. The literature review has been done using qualitative method. Various existing
literatures have been reviewed in the research.
Aim, Objectives and Research questions

related to stock management. The primary problem highlighted in the research has been the stock
management. There are several cases in which stock is more than required quantity and
sometimes short than the required quantity. This issue has been arising due to poor inventory
management system in the company.
Following are the objectives of the research:
ļ· To identify problem related to stock management
ļ· To analyze inventory control system and its effect on stock management
ļ· To recommend strategies for reducing stock management problems through inventory
control system
Following are the research questions:
ļ· What are the problems in stock management?
ļ· What is the effect of inventory system on stock management?
ļ· How issues in stock management can be reduced by inventory control system?
Data Collection and Analysis
Data collection has been an important part of the research. Data has been collected using both
primary and secondary method of data collection method. Primary data collection method
include conducting online survey using Google forms. Secondary data collection method include
online journals, books and articles. Interview has been done with three managers of Service
Foods Ltd. In primary data collection method, 8 close ended survey questions have been added in the
survey questionnaire. Google forms has been used for creating the survey questionnaire and uploaded
over the official website of Service Foods Ltd. This has helped in collecting primary data for the
research. Three managers of the Service Foods Ltd. have been interviewed and three open ended

H1: There have been significant impact of age, working experience and designation on the
satisfaction of inventory system.
The first regression model has been given below:
Satisfaction with inventory system= A+B*Age + C*Designation + D* Working experience + e
Where,
A = Intercept of the model
B = Coefficient of Age
C = Coefficient of Designation
D = Coefficient of working experience
The details of this analysis have been shown below:
In this regression model, the multiple correlation co-efficient has been valued
0.354528729. The value which is evaluated and indicating correlation among variables of
independent and dependent variables has been positively valued. Therefore, it can be analysed
that dependent variable satisfaction of inventory system has been positively connected with the
independent variables including age, working experience and designation. The computed
statistics has been fallen down in the range from 1 to 5 that do not show any statistical
significance of the variable correlation.

The coefficient of determination represented by R square has been valued as 0.12569062
that is 12 %. It can be analysed that almost 12 % of variation has been analyzed with the help of
independent variable.
The adjusted R square has been considered as measure of explanatory power has been
valued as 0.068670443. The critical point has been related to statics has neither considered as
percentage including R square nor significant test as statistics. Therefore, it has been
representing adjusted R square not explained properly.
The last factor has been standard error of the regression has been valued as 1.286804546.
This value has been indicating that variation in estimating relation between factors is dependent
variables and overall inventory management system.
Analysis of variance
The data of analysis of variance (ANOVA) has been helping in providing steps for total
variation that exists in the dependent variable which can be broken down properly into
unexplained portions and explained parts.
The SS regression has been referred as the variation that has been outlined in regression
line. On dofferent side, SS Residual has been termed as variation that is based on dependent
variable and can be complex in analyzing. As per the calculated value, SS Regression has been
measured as 10.95017 and SS Residual has been measured as 76.16983. The total SS ANOVA
has been valued as 87.12.
Along with this SS valuation, F statistics has been evaluated by employing the ration
based on mean square regression in relation with mean square residual. Therefore, this particular
statistics can be judged against critical F value for 2.204318 so that null hypothesis can be tested.
