up every two years. The average traffic per month is estimated to be half zettabyte.
The growth is not only as a result of increased user base but also innovation of new
generation of highly-personalized, complex, bandwidth-intensive media
applications.
These trends are fascinating to the internet service providers. They are required to
think approaches to the core network design architectures. Their main area of
concentration should be how they should achieve scalability to support the huge
bandwidth needs of the inevitable coming years. Another aspect with which they
ought to look into it is the extension of intelligence throughout the network to offer
innovative services which have superior quality.
The solution to this is to have a dynamic network infrastructures and protocols as
opposed to the past static network infrastructures. The dynamic network should be
able to support end-to-end provisioning of all network services any time and
