Identification of emerging technology impacts on Australian society
Australians are quicker to embrace of emerging technology such as wearable technology
to data like health monitoring, smart glasses, smart watches, clothing and cameras. Into the
healthcare field, this emerging technology used to manufacture devices for activity tracking,
hearing of aids as well as pacemakers. There is technological shift due to wearable technology as
it would use to monitor heart rate, improve personal safety, personal accessibility and others.
Mainly, emerging technology provides positive impact on the Australian society due to wearable
health technologies (Kalantari 2017). The technology is expected to lead a technical shift in
healthcare sector. The most important contribution of these technologies is monitoring of
healthcare status as well as collecting real time information of patients. The sales of wearable
technology are being expected to surge into coming years and the market set of the technology is
$150 billion by the year 2027. The future of this technology will focus on embedding of
wearable into electronic skins, clothing, along with skin patches (Lunney, Cunningham and
Eastin 2016). It provides impact on society as it is expected to move beyond health as well as
fitness devices.
The key technological shifts which are predicted to shape the society are normal looking
earnings would track heart rate, temperature of body, level of oxygen and provide health related
statistics. There should be sensor in shirts which would monitor physiology. The shoes would
convert movement into energy. The sensors in shoes would help to cool the shoes as well as heat
feet as required. It would also use to track exercises plus change in human weights. Virtual
assistant in contract lenses would analyze tears of humans for understanding emotional reactions
and predict thoughts in mind (Kalantari 2017). Therefore, the emerging technology is becoming
