Web 2.0 apps I have used Google Maps -This web mapping service is developed by Google and it offers satellite imagery and panoramic view of streets and provides facility of route planning and real time traffic conditions. Google Maps was started as C++ desktop program. Google Maps utilizes JavaScript and when the user drags the map, the grid squares are downloaded from server and inserted into page. Despite so many advantages of Google Maps, a bad aspect associated with Google Maps is that various anti-social element such as terrorists can utilize the satellite images in planning their terrorist activities(University of Delaware, 2018). Facebook-It is an online social media as well as social networking service. Its website was launched in 2004 by Mark Zuckerburg and fellows. It can be accessed on variety of devices having internet connectivity and it possess billions of active users all across the world. However, it is considered as an excellent platform to connect with people. However, the bad aspect associated with it is its psychological negative impact on users who are using it excessively(Facebook , 2018). Web 2.0 apps I have not used I have not used two apps which areMicro bloggingandTaggingyet, but consider them in future. Micro blogging -It is broadcasting medium which occurs in the form of online blogging. It is different from traditional blogs because its content is small in size actually as well as in the form of aggregate file size. It enables exchange of small elements of content, which include video links, short sentences as well as individual images. Various features of the app are appealing and encourage us to use it, such as through microblogs, websites, products and services can be promoted along with advertising of collaboration with a particular company. Features such as privacy settings enable the users to control who can read microblogs.
Tagging -It enables a website to be searched through keywords and is mined by the aggregators that index content of internet in accordance with the tagging. The best thing associated with this application is that it becomes easier to search something on web and saves a lot of time due to which, I am attracted towards using this app in future. Response to Post Student 1 I agree with Zac in this context that Google Maps is easily accessible and highly beneficial it was easier to navigate my pathway to the place even where I have never been before with precision and without wasting much time in traffic. In addition, the point that it sometimes lead to wrong pathways is might be because of blockage of visibility due to dense trees or something else blocking it. In a similar manner, I have personally used YouTube as well and found it really helpful as I have learnt so many things as it helped me in educational as well as entertainment purposes. Furthermore, you must use Microblogs and Tag Cloud in future as these apps are beneficial for reading precise and interesting contents and for less time consuming general web browsing respectively. Student 2 Google Maps are continuously getting updated and I have never faced such issues as I personally use this app. It is beneficial as it navigate you to best possible and nearest pathway to the destined place. However, for using Google Maps as well as Google Docs, internet facility is must as these are online apps. Furthermore, it would be beneficial for you to use Diigo and Podcasts for study purpose.
