Introduction
For this project the selected website is, http://www.libertyvan.com/ is selected which
is an example of badly designed website. This paper includes the analysis of the website in
order to find the flaws in the visual effects, ease of navigation between the pages, consistency
of design among the different pages of site. Furthermore, the loading time for the website
and its adverse impact on the users are also discussed in the different sections of this report.
Analysis of the Chosen site
While analysing the selected site, it is found that the title of site on the browser tab is
way too long compared to the convention for a website. The title consist of more than 65
characters. According to the standards the page titles of a website should contain less than 65
characters so that it can rank high in the search engine results as well as descriptive. The title
of a page in the website is wrapped within HTML <title> element tag [2]. This tag or element
is used as clickable control on the website for listings the site or a specific page in SERP or
search engine result pages.

Visual Effects
As visible on the landing or home page of and on other pages too does not use any
defined headings on the page content. Headings on the webpages are helpful for the users as
they provide valuable information through highlighting important parts of the content as well
as structure of document/content on the page. Thus, here it can be said that, search
engines/user of the site find it difficult in order to determine important part or contents of the
web pages [4]. On the other hand, the well-defined headings on the webpages aids in easy
accessibility as well as in SEO (search engine optimization). In addition to that, images on
most of the pages does not have defined sizes on the pages for better rendering and user
experience. This can be achieved by using width and height attributes available in HTML.
Even though these tags or attributes are optional for an image tag on a webpage but these tags
are strongly recommended. The reason behind this is, this tags are helpful for the web
browser so that it can arrange the positions of the element on the page faster without
shrinking and stretching the images. For the selected website it is found that there are 5
images that are stretched on the browser.
Navigation
The page does not even have any specific consistent navigation bar on all the pages.
In addition to that, the pages consist of content with small fonts, viewport for the pages are
not configured properly. In case mobile view, it is found that, tap targets are small without
declaring the language on the page in an ideal manner [5]. For the images used in the pages
there is no Alt text, lack of “skip to main content” link, browser caching is not enabled and
delivering the pages without the proper compression. While analysing the HTML code in the
pages it is also found that, the HTML code and the images are not optimized which leads to
the annoying user experience for the new visitor.
