Stage 1
It was noticed by the director of Boss Civil named Fred Gable that I was the one who was
learning the job very quickly. During the last few day of the probation, I was approached by
the director. He told me that I was catching up quickly and he was happy with my work
progress. As a result I was being told to resign from the present job at the JB Hi-fi as he
wants me to work as a permanent full time employee. This came as a great news to me.
Although, the director also commented that as an employee of the office, I must also interact
with the business side of the whole organization and not only the engineering part of the
organization. In addition, the director had also acknowledged the fact that my work was very
good and that I was giving in my hundred percent and was very sincere with my work. But
according to him I must also contribute to the various discussions which are not directly
related to the job. My co worker and I were being told these things during the afternoon
period of a Saturday when the whole of the office was empty. After listening to the director
of the Boss Civil named Fred Gable, I was quick in devising and execute out a plan of action
for the new job role. As a result, the director began seeing more capability in me and I was
being assigned the job for the new tenders. In addition, I was assigned to talk to newer
potential clients for the business organizations as a part of my job profile.

The after effect of the plan when proposed to the director of the Boss Civil named Fred Gable
was exactly the opposite. According to the director Fred Gable, he expected more from me
and he was genuinely very disappointed in me. The director of the Boss Civil, Fred Gable
said that during such situations, there should a much more stronger plan of action. According
to the director, I should have been much more prompt and on time. It drawn upon me that the
director was majorly trying to explain what more I could have done, what more was expected
of me in order to prevent such kind of meeting in near future of time. However I took
everything positively after the meeting with the director as I have given it all to the board. I
realised that I should have never a bit more responsible and punctual towards my work. I
realised that I should have reached office on time and try and put more effort to be part of the
overall team at the business organization.

Talking about the typical Engineering related example, it is being said that a site engineer are
being scheduled to be working on a construction site one fine morning while the engineer is
running late. As a part of the job description, a site engineer are scheduled to be checking on
all the site workers, to see if they are all on time and are doing all their duties and assigned
task well and are on scheduled. If the site engineer are not present on time, all the site
workers would not be managed properly. As a result, there would be delay in the whole job
of the construction itself. As a responsible worker, the site engineer should inform the
authorities in charge well in advance about the possible delay in the work of construction.

Stage 4
I have decided to put in more hard work. I guess the reason I was slacking was because of the
fact that I was still attached to my job at the Boss Civil. From this day onwards I will try and
be more attentive and be more caring and patient about my new place of job through the
application of the new methods and the techniques which are mentioned as above. These
methods and techniques have had a positive effect on the workplace because it had already
been almost three weeks since the last meeting. In addition, the director of the Boss Civil,
Fred Gable is also very supportive about the various changes that were implemented by me in
the new office. The new plan was perfectly fine for me as I choose flexibility anytime
because other then the work life there are other priorities in my life.

Stage 1
Initial performance review (IPR) is required to be submitted by us, the students of the UTS.
That Initial Performance Review was to be finalised by the supervisor during the time of the
internship. There are a few points on that initial performance review that needs to be worked
upon, although all the rest of the point mostly calls for positive comments. The performance
review was being discussed by Michael and me. And according to Michael, I was taking
almost all feedback in the account and as a result he was content and happy. The overall
result mostly consist of the positive feedback. The overall result was much above the average
and it majorly consists of the 4s, the 5s and a few 3s.
The overall shortcoming along with the weakness was addressed by both Michael and me. In
addition, goals were created by the term end of the internship period to achieve a full 5 score.
More importantly my job profile mainly consist of taking in of the various feedback which
was given by my supervisor and follow all the comments that were given.
Stage 2
For the last two months, my performance was being observed. My performance was
not affected by any major external factor. I had the attitude to follow all the given
feedback irrespective if it being positive or negative. My supervisor and I both were
very positive during and even after period of the internship. As per my own opinion, I
have worked in a very professional maaner. During the internship period, I have
realised that I need to work upon few things.
Stage 3
Talking mainly about the Engineering related example, work off is need by the contactor. In
addition, the way work is done by the engineer is not liked by me. The required Feedback is

given later. There are good chance of the Engineer who is the is client itself to be working
with the contractor once again.
In the Sales Engineering scenario, a customer may able to give feedback to the wholesaler in
a situation where an engineer sells an item to the customer. Although each and every
customer have different point of view, an engineer must always listen to the feedback of its
customers weather it is good or bad.
Talking about the various methods of improvements, technically speaking there are no fixed
method or any technique in order to change any person`s outlook or point of view. In addition
no one can determine how one takes the various feedbacks.
In an ideal situation one must always pay heed to other people`s feedback, suggestion or
constructive feedback. It is very vital that one should always improve on what he or she does
in life. It is important that one should always acknowledge both good and bad feedbacks to

This feedback would be very beneficial for me and I am positively goanna act upon it. I am
going to try my best on order to get a better score in my final performance review. In order
to do so I am put extra hard work at my job. In addition I would try and be better team player.
And this would work in my favour as this is exactly thre change my supervisor at the Boss
Civil wants to see in me.

Stage 1 (summarise an event from which you learnt something):
In the past few months, I was so overburdened with the different projects, assignments the
various tasks that are being given by the university itself. In addition there task which are
assigned at the place of internship itself. There was time when all of my assignment and work
was in complete doldrums. The quality of work not up to the mark as a result marks were also
less. I was under the impression that the work that is required to be done during an internship
would be comparatively easy. But in was not correct. In addition, the work load at the WIL2
also seems to be quite a lot which had a really bad effect on my heath and overall well being.
Stage 2 (analyse the event and state one thing you learnt from it):
With time I realised that stress could be handled in a much better way if only if I let the
required people know that the assignments could not be completed on time and they require
some more time. As an example I would like to state that I received a total of three penalty
marks as of now for missing deadline. It was related to the construction materials subject.
The thing that could have been done by me was that I should have informed the involved
lecturer that an extension was needed in order to complete the required assignment. This
would have a better respond. But I was under the wrong impression that could submit the
required assignment at my own time after completion. It was very carless on my part. The
various factors that had an effect on my health mainly include work, stress and health. I was
quite depressed as my work was not getting done and thinking that I have done my work
properly.

Specific Engineering related example mainly includes the site engineers who have to work in
extreme stressful conditions and under tremendous pressure of completing their work on
time. In addition it is not taken into account that they have a family to feed. They also need to
care about their health. In addition to theses are many other factors that had an impact on the
performance of the engineer and thus resulted in an increased stress level. Taking about the
software engineers, coding can be really tough because of all the debugging errors and
various other technical issues that arises. If there is a particular deadline for any particular
task, the various technical issues arising would cause a problem. Then the software engineers
need to speak to their supervisor which at times results in embarrassment. This may result in
an increased stress level that has a bad effect on the health of those software engineers.
The various methods to improve this may include proper stress management by being
positive and reducing the coffee intake which has bad effect on the health during stress. In
addition proper rest and sleep is also required.
