This presentation discusses the importance of wellness and wellbeing of educators in early childhood education. It explores theoretical models such as the Illness-Wellness Continuum and the Iceberg Model of Health and Illness, and emphasizes the value of providing for the wellness and wellbeing of educators. The presentation also provides a plan with useable ideas and experiences to improve staff wellness and wellbeing, including seeking support from the community and leaders of the early childhood settings, stress management training, recognizing the success and efforts of educators, and raising wages and providing health insurance and other benefits. The role of leaders in early childhood settings is also discussed, including their role as team leaders, pedagogy creators, policy designers, and rights advocates.
