1. Project Goals
The project of Oil Tanker Storage development would help in easing the flow of
unleaded petrol and the access to its storage. The storage facility development for the Western
Australia Fuel Organization would help in forming the development of the improved services
and operation development. The goals of the project for oil tanker development are,
Renovation of existing tankers: The project of oil tanker development would help in
easing the renovation of the oil tankers for Western Australia. The renovation would help in
forming the development of the operations and alignment of the supportive management
operations (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). The renovation of the existing tankers include addition
of 4, 7, and 6 steel patches to respective 3 oil tankers, clearing of the tankers and repainting
them, and main valve replacement of the third tanker with 7 million litre storage.
Increment of the life of tankers: The renovation work is carried on so that the overall life
of the tankers of Western Australia Fuel Storage would be increased. The lifeline of the tankers
is dependent on the condition of the oil tankers in terms of material, piping condition, and
structure (Sears et al. 2015). The renovation would help in restrengthening of the oil tankers so
that it can work for 5-10 more years without any problem.
2. Project Scope Analysis
2.1 Scope Statement
The project scope statement for Oil Tanker Renovation Project is-

“The use of project management principles for implementing the renovation works that
are helpful for the refurbishment of the existing oil tankers and development of the storage
facility is the primary goal of the project.”
The scope statement had shown that the project is mainly focusing on the development of
the operations and renovating the project in terms of the project management principles
(Harrison and Lock 2017). The scope statement of the project had highlighted the following
items that would be included in the project,
Documents: The development of the documents like charter, initiation, plan, and final
reports are the documents required for the completion of the project. These documentation would
help in forming the final project deliverable.
Renovation Works: The additions of steel patches, main valve development for third
tanker with 7 million litres storage, and cleaning and repainting of the oil tankers are the
renovation works required in the project. The renovation of the oil tankers are the in scope items
of the project.
2.2 Steps for Project Scope Determination
The project scope determination is helpful for forming the deployment of the successful
integration of the activities and formation of the renovation works. The steps of scope
determination are explained in the table below,
