INTRODUCTION
Aboriginal Australians are the first people who have lived on the continent for over
50000 years. This report is based on the influence of western system and structure on Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander people with community services (Van der Walt, 2019). The discussion
related to the main factors that support the statement. There are some resources that are required
to influence the decision making, communication, and participation of these people. The
feedback of these people have impact on improvement of cultural safety strategies. The
opportunities available are analysed that so that the programs can be delivered effectively. The
ramifications of past and lived trauma on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and its
impact is also analysed. The influence and changing practices in Australia and their positive and
negative impact is discussed in this report.

a. Factors in relation to “Western systems and structures influence the engagement of Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander people with community services”
There are efforts that are done by the community so that they are able to engage the
Aboriginal and Torres Strait island people. There factors that must be considered are as follows:
1. Social connectedness and sense of belonging: These people must be provided social
connectedness so that they are able top engage in services and stop facing the issues. If
they will feel sense of belongingness then these people will get indulged in community
services.
2. Strong Community governance: If there will be strong governance followed by the
community then they will be able to engage the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people. They will work on solving all the problems and risks that are faced by them
(Rahimi, Sharifzadeh and Feng, 2020).
3. Separation from culture and identity issues: The cultural changes are seen by these
people and that also cause problem for them to participate in community services.
4. Physical health problems: these people are facing issue of heath and the community

Australians are unable to deal with the trauma.
