Introduction
The hospitality industry comprises of a wide variety of fields that are a part of the
service industry. The service industry thereby includes sectors like, event planning, lodging,
theme parks, cruise line and transportation. This industry is worth multibillion dollars and the
operations are thereby dependent on the availability of disposable income and leisure time.
The various hospitality groups thereby consist of divisions like, hotels and restaurants
(Kandampully, Zhang and Bilgihan 2015).
The portfolio will be based on the hospitality and tourism industry of Australia. The
organization that has been considered for this analysis is The Westin Sydney. The Westin
Sydney provides a 5-star experience to the customers with the help of the sophisticated rooms
and other amenities which include, restaurant, bar, in-room massages and designer shopping
based facilities as well. The guests are thereby offered an unforgettable holiday and they can
also visit the nearby places which are, the Sydney Opera House, the Darling Harbour and
Harbour Bridge (Kim, Vogt and Knutson 2015).
Current operations of the business
Products – The major products that are offered by the organization include, the
rooms, the suites, the club based facility and other complimentary services as well. The
Lounge and The Bar of the hotel are also offered to the customers. The Westin Retail bases
services are provided to the customers. The organization offers many packages based on their
rooms and other services which are designed for the purpose of attracting the customers on a
regular basis.
