INTRODUCTION
Howards Saul Becker is a sociologist and who made many of contribution in the field of
social science like sociology of deviance, sociology of art and sociology of music who was
generally wrote by Howards Becker. They wrote many of methodology books which help to say
about many of art which is going in past about what are the deviance. Moreover, Becker does not
claim any deviancy specialist. But his work and output on the subject is cited and communicated
by the sociologist and criminologist idea of deviance. In sociology, deviance is defined as a set
of action which violate the social norms, including a formal enacted rule, which consist of
informal violation of social norms and ethics. Moreover, the deviance may be a negative impact
of concern, the violation of social norms is not always a negative action sometime it may be
positive for many of them, society is major output in which the norms and regulated and braked
by them. Social norms are differing from the society and between the cultures. An act of
behaviour which may be deviant and receive the punished within the one society and the normal
behaviour in another society, so this is the normal which is physically and mentally created by
the different regions of people for their purpose. In this era, there is no any circumstance of
norms and moral following, everyone has their own norms with their goals, they set their moral
as per the life background and future objectives (Donati, P., 2016).
Deviance is a place from the relative work is committed or time by time the act of took
place. If murdering any another human is considered wrong. For example, there are expectation
arises when government permits to kill in warfare or in self-defence. While the deviance is
categories in two forms one is formal deviance and another one is informal deviance. The formal
deviance is defined as crime which violate the norms and ethics of society. And informal
deviance is minimum in violation that will break written rules of society. norms are the set of
assumptions, under informal deviance, a set of opposes towards the society. There are four type
of deviant’s behaviour which are given as:
 Falsely accusing which is defined an individual to be obtaining obedient or deviant
behaviour (Woodman, D., 2016).
 Pure deviance which is others perceive the individual as contributing in the social moral
which deviant the rule breaking behaviours.
 Conforming which perceive the individual to be contribution in social moral and norms
that are distributed within the sociologist and place of society.

 Secret deviance are those which is when the individual is not perceived as deviating or
participating in many rule breakable task which is by the society himself.
Outsider, Howard Becker is the study if deviance, is mostly an insider prospective. Becker
associated with the social group which is called interactionist. Who help in the observation of
social behaviour form the viewpoint of the actor. To know the truth about the deviance must
grow through the analysis the Becker turns to deviant himself and their enterprising discovers
that various simple citizen who elaborate the deviant in different form and what is not applicable
in deviant.
As per this context, which are reallocating and allocating in the matter of subject are to

art in very simple form and well-mannered scheme. His main point is the suggestive notion about
the deviance. Like beauty, lies the eye of the beholder. As in sometime the case is like a

In this context, Becker dint argue it is actively achieved. It is the result rather of a series
of many of choices for example successes deviant have career too. All social group makes some
rule and try to take the all circumstance to enhance them. Social rule is enforced the person who
is supposed to have broken it may be seen to cover the special kind of person one who cannot be
trusted for a long time and initially they used to believe in many of them after a time while it will
be not accept the rule and agreed as live in outsider form. So this kind of person called the
outsider in the pace of society which make them desirous. The marijuana is another term of life
and their harm depend, the person who taken some drugs who violate the norms of society and
theses kind of people called the outsider. But the outsider who has been labelled by many of
them have their different view and perception towards the things, they have different thought and
view about various matter (Jorgenson, A.K., 2016).
Generally, these all thing are the agent of social control which have ability to make the
label stick and of the labelling of public once someone has been make a thought about the

topics which is accepted. Because Becker is an interactionist than the Marxist, he does not
formulate the idea that might possible. Other question raise concept that people so labelled but
the outsider are play the role of victim which is not crime but the victim is crime, crime is very
real problem that require many of solution that need to cover in the part of life. The outsider are
people of deviant group has been the subject of much speculation, theorizing and scientific study
and their truth in which they generally want to know about the society in which they are in living
the basic question are adoption of the sociology (Kolomiets, V.P., 2017).
The question are what laymen want to know about the force of deviance. Why they want
to do. How can the amount significant rule breaking in which the thing is get forbidden? It is
easily observable that the various kind of group judge different things to be the deviance. This
could change the alertness of the possibility that a person making the judgement which is created
the false the deviance and society treat him like the outsider. To the degree that the common
vision of the scientific theory that begin with its premises imagine that acts the break role and
regulation and this leave out the essential variable in the society about the outsider. If the
researcher is ignoring the various character of the standard operating procedure of judgement
which may create some limit the kind of the theories that can be developed and the kind of new

per the product of mental disease. The behaviour of a homosexual or drug addict is taken as the
symbol of mental problem and mental disease. Just as the diabetic difficulty in getting the heal

Some sociologist has use a model of deviance based essentially on their medicall notion
of health and disease. They look at the society and wonderful and some part of the society and

identify them as symptoms of social. They are discriminate between those feature of society
which promote stability. Such as view has the great virtue of pointing to many regions of
positive environment trouble in society of which person not may not be aware. Another

arises. An insider is those who follow the norms and moral of society, as per the Becker, society
follow those who are adaptable and agree to follow the norms and value which is created by
society for a new civilization plan which help to being so social and adaptive. The insider is
follow these normal norms and accept the society of present truth. The outsider is those who
denied to accept the norms of society in various way by their new thinking and declining
behaviour.
The society make these people as un necessary person which harm the society by their
behaviour and living pattern of this type of people who take their own view in society norms
called the superior outsider. The sociological view which is just define deviance as the infraction
of some agreed upon rule and regulation. Then it is summarizing by whom which break the rules
of the structure society and to search for the factor in their personalities and life situations that
may account for the infraction. This assumes that those who brooked a rule substitute that a
homogeneous matter of concern and category are arises, because they have committed the
similar deviant act.
