Topic-Why Homelessness has been increased in London for the past five years? INTRODUCTION Homelessness is defined as living in housing that is below the minimum standard and lack secure tenure (U.K.’s Homelessness Problem Is Growing, and Spreading, Report Finds , 2017). Therefore, individual who are homelessness are most often unable to acquire and maintain secure, safe and adequate housing. In addition to this, homelessness and povertyboth are interrelated concepts. Therefore, the report is based on the topic as “Why Homelessness has been increased in London for the past five years? ”. Herein, the national charity for homelessness people within the UK stated about the true number of those who sleeping rough in England was much more greater than the government figures. Furthermore, assignment will cover the following things as aim and objectives will be framed up on the given topic. Literature review will be collected in order to have depth findings. Thus, methodologies will be designed to adopt one suitable method of conducting research. Aim & Objectives Aim- To investigate the reasons behind increment in ratio of Homelessness in London for the past five years. With reference to study of London. Objectives- To articulate the concept and personal causes of Homelessness within UK. To identify drivers ofpoverty and homelessness in developed countries as United Kingdom. To access the initiatives taken by official legal authorities in London to mitigate issue of Homelessness. It has shot up the media and political agenda within the last few years. Lack of financial support from the UK authorities is to preventing local authorities for carrying out their duties to the homelessness people. Henceforth, personal causes of homelessness might be inclusive of lack of qualification, debts, poor mental and physical health, unemployment, breakdown and lack of social support. In contrary toMackie, Johnsen and Wood, (2019)it has been identified that homeless is one of the complex social problem with variety of common social factors and underlying economic issues such as poverty, lack of affordability housing, ineffective mental and physical health. Thus, adults of the UK gets involved in crime rate at an early age. It affects the everyone living in the community. They are the individual who use to get committed in the unusual acts and may experience physical or mental health. If the people experiences the feelings of isolation, homelessness can raise chances of taking drugs and experiencing mental and physical health problems. Homelessness people are majorly get connected to the criminal activities. Theme 2: Identification of drivers of poverty and homelessness. The one of the main driver in this is as poverty, lack of rural opportunities and services offered by becoming the urban development. As per the view ofMcCann and Brown, (2019) stated that poverty is the reason that pushes the number of the individuals to leave their rural homes, to seek better economic and job opportunities they tends to get shifted to the cities and towns. In contrary toBax and Middleton, (2019)stated that migration must be considered as part of process of becoming homelessness. On the other hand, some part in the UK is majorly hit by the environmental disasters and the impact of climate change than others. Due to this, the number of people loss their housing jobs and family. Lack of formal people welfare and support system is problematic factor for some people and this also underpins much of the increase in street sleeping and this also enhance longevity.
