Running head: WIRELESS COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS
IoT
Yes, today’s topic is IoT.
Internet of Thing is one of the most disruptive technology and is changing the definition of
smartness and automation.
IoT has been able to overcome the existing challenges that are technological reliability,
resilience and interoperability
So let’s Begin
Hello Friends,
I am your host [Name of The Student].
And you are watching, your knowledge library of technology at the channel [name of the
YouTube channel].
Internet of things is the technology that connects the systems of an area in a network.
It collects the data in real time and in the process monitors the system to control it remotely.
The sensors get directly access by the users and the actuators get the commands.
It gives prominent advantage to the industry because the data required by one system is
directly transferred to the system that needs it.
It reduces the effort invested by the employee of the organisation which they can use in other
productive work.
It is also secure the system and detects the faults before they can originate which mitigates
the chance of operations halts.

It is also beneficial for personal use as an individual can use it for securing their personal
equipment’s and other household appliances.
But as it is everything has a negative side to itself.
The scenario in case of the IoT is no different from others.
The security and privacy threats offered IoT is the negative trait.
However, the infrastructure of IoT is well-designed to manage the services.
The IoT researchers, vendors and other prominent entities have attempted to discover ways to
mitigate the discussed threats.
To secure the network they focused on the most vulnerable part of the technology, that is the
internet and wireless protocols.
The topic of discussion for the video is the wireless security protocols.
IEEE 802.16 and WiMAX: The forum of WiMAX that is the Worldwide Interoperability for
Microwave Access is a non-profit organization having an industry-led which certifies and
promotes the interoperability and compatibility products of the wireless broadband which is
completely based on the Standard of IEEE 802.16.
The technology has a wireless broadband access design to support 1 Gbit/s.
The IEEE 802.16p enhance the machine-to-machine applications.
There has been an appropriate modification which can easily enhance the Medium Access
Control (MAC) with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) thus
making the communication devices to consume low power.
