PART I: Collecting Information
For the collection of information an evaluation is made on the case study of
Shuraa Facilities Management LLC for identifying the needs of deploying the
wireless service. A set of questionnaire is prepared for the users and the problems
faced by them while using the network is evaluated. The questionnaire is distributed
with the 5 department for gathering data from different parts of the network and
restructure the network according to the user feedback.
An evaluation is made on the various challenges which is face by Shuraa
Facilities Hotel so that the essential requirement for redesigning could be collected
and this may be done by making a proper set of the questionnaire which would be
distributed to various users of IT staffs, management [5].
Questionnaires for Users
What is the signal strength of the wifii network and is it consistent
throughout the floor?
Do the webpages load in a minimum time and videos streams without
buffering?
During voice and video calls do you face call drops and connectivity
issues while connected with the wireless network?
Does download fails or the download speed drops due to network error
while downloading large files?
Does the wireless network of the hotel support sharing files and
information between the users connected in the network?
Is the wireless network supports the latest hardware device and
software for availing different service and platform?
Does the network blocks or allows malicious websites and installs
malicious software or spyware in the hardware device?
Questionnaires for Management
How many guests are accommodated in each of the floor of the hotel
building?
Which part of the hotel does not have good WiFi strength or is the
dead zone?

How old is the existing network that is currently used by the users of
the hotel?
Does the hotel face security violation due to the outdated network and
protocols?
Is there any need for monitoring the network and enforce a centralized
control of the network? [10]
Questionnaires for IT Staffs
Is there any firewall currently used for management of access
permission of different websites for the users?
What is the current internet plan used by the hotel to serve internet to
the guests?
How many departments are there in the hotel and what are the
applications and services used by them?
Does the hotel use an in house server or cloud hosting to host their
website?
What are the bandwidth needs for the departments and how many of
users are working at a time?
Purpose of the Questionnaires
The questionnaires are developed such that it can be distributed with the
different levels of users and stakeholders for getting an idea about the network
requirements and the problems with the existing framework. With the help of the
questionnaires the users can be actively involved in the network redesign process
and help in rectifying the problems associated with the network [6]. The errors in
the network and signal strength can be improved after a complete analysis on the
network and it also help in aligning the network according to the current needs of
the users. The clear understanding of the requirement is necessary such that new
network solution is error free and efficient to meet the needs of 500 clients in the
hotel [4]. The questionnaire helps in collecting user opinion and making a research
on the characteristics of the network. It can help in quick collection of answers and
can be used multiple times for promotion of reliability and comparing the result.
