1WOMEN’S RIGHTS
The plight of the women gender has been in focus ever since the inception of the human
civilization. This is due to the human believe that women are, by nature, soft in their orientation.
This softness has been taken for their weakness and as a result, the male gender has found it easy
to dominate over their female counter part (Farris 2017). This essay seeks to analyze the position
of the female gender in the society in the modern contemporary world. In this context, the rights
granted to the women are also analyzed. The essay concludes with the importance and
significance of such rights of women.
Human rights have been deemed essential for the survival of human beings. The
institution of the agency of the state was necessitated in order to provide a framework of
regulations to the people so that they no longer live in anarchy and chaos. As a consequence, in
the latter half of the twentieth century, the formalization of human rights occurred in the form of
the establishement of the United Nations Organization. However, the universal rights granted by
the UN and that by the various agencies of the states failed to percolate to the women. According
to the authors Peters, Julie Stone, and Andrea Wolper (2018) in the book entitled “Women's
rights, human rights: International feminist perspectives” the female gender has been subjected
to regular torture. A normal male person has to be subjected to incidents of war and pain in order
to feel what a female person feels in her daily live. This is due to the fact that women have no
freedom whatsoever when it comes to their lives, or in any matter in that regard. This is because
of the inherent dominating nature of the male gender who believes that it is only rightful to keep
the female subordinated under their rule and pleasure.
The need for women rights is felt in its entirety in the modern contemporary world. The
female gender has been able to find their voice and protest against the age old persistent violation
of their rights that has been done against them (Kaplan 2016). In this respect, the feminist
