INTRODUCTION
Hospitality sector is wider category of area within service industry that includes drink
and food facilities, theme parks, travelling and food and drink services (Guskey, 2014). Hotels
sector is considered with provision of visitor accommodation and related facilities. They cover
restaurants, cafes, bars, night-life and number of travel and tourism facility. This industry is
dependent on availability of disposable income and leisure time. Food and beverages, travel and
tourism, lodging and other sectors covered in hospitality sector. The present report is based on
hospitality industry and hotel sector, it explains SWOT analysis and Professional development
plan based on specific job role in hotel. It defines employability skills and IT skills required in
hotel as particular job position.
MAIN BODY
Hospitality field such as the hotel and direct operations for example, housekeepers,
bartenders, marketing, management, human resources and servers etc. range of hotels work
under this industry since for so long effectively and provide their better services and products to
guests which is beneficial for overall business as well as whole industry. Hotel industry growing
their businesses more and more with the help of skilled and talented peoples (Whitworth and
Chiu, 2015). Event planner, hotel general manager, event planner, accounting manager, Human
resource manager, security department manager are the main job roles within hotel. All above
job roles perform well and work effectively in company which is beneficial and effective for
hotel as they help to increase profit and generate revenue. With the help of employability skills,
Accounting department manager can be able to perform or work perfectly within hotel in order
to manage cash flow.
Skill Audit-
Skill audit is the essential procedure for analysing and measuring and recording abilities
of group or individual. With the help of conducting the skills audit in any organization is
beneficial as they can be able to identify and determine knowledge and skills that required for
current job position as well as identifies knowledge that firm currently has (Filipe and et.al.,
