INTRODUCTION
Work based learning is determined as educational strategy which provide real life
experience to its students related to work in which they can applied on academic as well as
technical skill and also improve their employability. It also merges theory along with practices
and also increases knowledge of intersection of tactical forms of understanding. In this report,
the Marriott Hotel is taken as an organisation. This company operate their functions within
hospitality sector and it’s headquarter is in Maryland, US. Therefore, it was given in year of
1927 by J. Willard Marriott & Alice Marriott. It is considered as an American International
hospitality company that permits broad gathering of hotel and their accommodation services. In
this report, there is a discussion regarding skill audit and also maintain personal improvement
plan. They also provide explanation in respect of short report that helps in assessing skill and
competence required for performing work in an appropriate manner (Bodnar and Clark, 2017).

person or group of person. The primary purpose for organising skill audit within organisation is

their work in an appropriate manner such as technical skill, interpersonal skill, creative thinking
and many more. Personal skill audit is connected to process of making difference between
present capabilities and competency which is necessary for implementing particular activities in
an appropriate manner. Herein, the personal skill audit aids assistance to me in assessing my

For getting success in role as sales manager within Marriott hotel, I am focusing on
planning to maintain improvement in my skill as well as competence. I will emphasis on my
skills such as communication skill because due to have superior communication, I will capable to
make appropriate interaction with individual person as well as target audiences. It provides
support to me in providing appropriate information regarding demand of user. This aids
assistance to me in offering services for retaining user for a longer period of time. This will also
advantageous for me in my career improvement because it helps in performing my present job

or learning various languages because as per my present job role, it is important for growth in
future period of time. I can focus on easily interaction with various customers who adopt various
