It also includes SWOT analysis, PEST analysis, and Porter's five forces model for analysis of external environment. The project reflects on the experience and learning at the workplace.

INTRODUCTION
In the life of an individual work based experience play a crucial and effective role in
development of a person (Al Mamun, Lawrie, and Wright, 2020). Most of the institutions in
recent times, develop a precise approach in managing development plan for long term growth of
business. In the professional life, it is a major responsibility of a person to focus on different
aspects of work based learning in order to gain experience. In this project example of Al Pacino
restaurant is taken into consideration for better understanding dimensions of work-based
learning. The restaurant is a famous restaurant based in Colchester, Essex and serves different
customers at a particular point of time. In this project planning related to a project along with its
initiation is helpful for business development. This project covers brief analysis like SWOT,
PEST and Porter's five forces for better perform self development. In this project there is also
discussion on various factors that impact on growth of an individual.

TASK
Planned and initiated the project. Setting targets, aims and objectives for project
The planning is a major tool which is used to develop a good framework for future
operations and objectives. In the life of an individual, planning play a crucial role in maintaining
systematic development of individual. In my project when I was preparing for development, it
was very much essential for me to develop effective planning. Most of the successful candidates
who are proceeding with the role of developing self should understand the important aspect of
career development. Also setting the aims and objectives for project can done with setting major
targets on timely basis (Clardy, 2018). Setting targets in the restaurant, is major function
according to me which helps in guidance and support for development. Initiation of project
should be important for me in order to develop systematic needs of self and fulfil them with
support of management. In Al Pacino restaurant, internship project is dedicated to develop
precise knowledge in an individual for developing majority of operations. In the recent times, the
importance of initiating planning is increasing value of customer support. All major employees
in the marketplace, majorly focus on front office operations for performing well in the hospitality
sector. Targets, aims and objectives are also important for management of business in order to
led the effective edge at marketplace.
Managed, monitored and evaluated the progress of the project throughout the project life cycle
from initiation to completion
Project life cycle, is combination of several phases which are important in developing an
individual's progress related to a project. The key advantage of maintaining project life cycle is
to focus on team development and needs of every project. All major companies in the recent
times, focus on monitoring and supervision on employees to develop fair practices in project life
cycle. The project life cycle is also related to mentioning a good approach which leads to
expansion in life of a person. Majority of my team members told me that following project life
cycle is very much important for overall development of a company. The monitoring of various
aspects related to company development are measured by project life cycle and its aspects for
career growth (Gupta, and Deep, 2019). In the restaurant I learned about management of a
project in a well defined manner, In all major aspects of maintaining a good project, application
of evaluation also play a critical role. The progress of our whole project at the restaurant is

measured within a given period of time. My project's progress was systematically maintained by
me while considering major factors related to self growth. The scientific calculations in
measuring career development is mostly important for me in tracing value of a project.
Companies also prefer to focus on business development with help of developing a major project
life cycle for self development. Progress of our project was also important to be measured in
order to develop desire aims and objectives of whole research.
How at project completion you met the deadlines and achieved the benefits of each stage of aims
and objectives for your project
In the development of a project, deadlines are prescribed to complete a project within a
limited time frame. For my project I was given a major time to complete project along with a
grace period of 14 days. I submitted the project on time and now I am also ready for facing my
viva round in order to gain competition based advantage (Illeris, 2018). Also I performed
completion of my project using calculations related to different stages of fulfilling requirements
of a given project. Deadline of a project is also essential to be followed by a person in order to
develop a honest approach based on business development. All major business organisations are
based on various principles of supporting project management in employees. The different
approaches which include different stages related to completing a project at Al Pacino restaurant
are mentioned below:
 Primary or initiation stage- In the completion of a project this stage plays a major role
by developing initial planning for the whole project. The primary stage is also critical for
a person in analysing and formulating a risk free approach. All candidates needs support
in this stage as this a very basic approach in formulating primary focus on development
of project in a systematic manner. I also focused on primary stage, which enables a
person to perform major focus on initial stage which leads to formation of other stages.
Primary stage is also considered as important in order to develop self analysis for
individual development (Lai, Chen, and Lee, 2019) The management of risk is also
essential in this stage for major development plans and policies.
 Secondary stage- This stage is related to implementation of project planning in order to
start working for a project. Secondary stage includes application of control and
supervision for long term and sustainable growth of an individual. Secondary stage also

includes application of different theories and models of research in order to lead
competition. Major research related to a project is also compulsory for a candidate to
perform business objectives and goals. In order to also develop a major focus on
secondary stage, it is important to develop business parameters related to a project. My
project at Al Pacino took a short time to implementation because of support provided by
my seniors and employees who were working at the restaurant.
 Actions and steps- In this stage of project development, this stage includes various major
actions that are taken by a person to follow up project. This stage is majorly related to
formulating necessary actions in order to gain growth and development at the
marketplace. All major actions of myself were taken with utmost care and responsibility
in order to minimise risk associated with the project (Mahdavi, Rahnamayan, and Deb,
2018). The actions also includes various efforts that are developed by an individual in
supporting majority of cases. All companies in international and national marketplace
leads to develop competitive advantage with the help of effective stages.
 Review- This stage is completed by taking feedback and review from different team
members or by self. The review of a project is helpful in increasing the knowledge about
whole project in a precise manner. Review is also majorly important for a person with the
help of feedback for making desired changes in the strategy. Review also includes
suggestions from different persons who are attached with a project in a well defined
manner. Techniques of reviewing also lead to develop effective edge in the project
environment in leading major pillars of team development.

Porter's five forces model-
Competition in the industry
Competition in the industry is the competitive rivalry which can undercut the company's
existing position. The company with similar products and services can reduce the power of
rivalry company. The company with huge market and customer base has low chances of
competition in industry (McCoy, Salhi, and Fink, 2018). Al Pacino restaurant has high
competition in the industry as there are many competitive restaurants and food franchise which
offers food and beverages at low cost with quality.
Power of suppliers
Suppliers are the providers of raw material in every industry, somehow every industry is
dependent on the suppliers. The bargaining power of suppliers are high when there are low
number for suppliers to serve and the bargaining power of suppliers are low when there are
various suppliers which are selling the same raw material. AL Pacino has low bargaining power
of suppliers as its raw materials available worldwide.
Power of buyers
Power of buyers is the essential factor of consideration as buyers holds the pricing
changing power of the companies, as buyers can easily switch to new and cheaper alternatives.
Al Pacino restaurant prices are adjusted according to the targeted market for maintaining the
existing customer base.
Threat of substitute

Substitute products and services within the the organisation or the industry can become
threat to other product and can overall effect the organisation. In Al Pacino restaurant threat of
substitute power is low as it charges the premium pricing to the customers who focuses on the
quality and the better dining experience.
New entrant in the market
Existing company is not affected by the new entrant in the market, as entering into a
market huge capital and time is required. Al Pacino can not be affected by any new entrant in the
market as this restaurant has a well maintained goodwill and customer base in the industry which
can not be switched by any new entrant. New entrant can never take place of any existing
companies.
SWOT analysis for improvement in self development
The SWOT analysis is an important tool which helps a business to improve its strength of a
business. SWOT analysis includes application of focused learning and development approaches
which are beneficial for systematic growth of a business. This helps in improvement of a
candidate and also leads to create a developing approach in a business (Qin, and Yan, 2021).
SWOT analysis is helpful in developing a project for long term growth of a business to lead
marketplace. In order to gain success growth rate during my project to lead the marketplace. The
SWOT analysis is also helpful in providing benefit to a person by majorly developing focused
advantage. SWOT analysis of myself is mentioned below in context of my working at Al Pacino-
 Strengths- In the functioning of a project development, strengths are important in
providing a better approach to an individual. Time management at the workplace is my
major strength, in order to complete various things on time. All major companies in the
international and national marketplace focus on time management in order to deliver best
business practices. The strengths are related to development of capabilities in order to
face different issues and challenges in life. In my project tenure, I also developed major
strength of communication skills, that also helped me in developing confidence related to
my working.
 Weaknesses- Lack of professional skills is one of my major weakness which created
obstacles for me in completing my project. The weaknesses are also considered as major
things which helps in improvement and overcoming risks in life. I also understand that

coordination skills is also one of my major weaknesses which can be a big challenge for
me to overcome at the marketplace.
 Opportunities- I am now capable of developing and facing various opportunities which
are related to my career. Expansion in the career related life, is one of the major
opportunity available to me in order to also gain professionalism. I will take help of my
professors and seniors in exploring more career opportunities at the marketplace.
 Threats- The threats cause a big harm to business or individual by creating a stay away
factor or scared nature(Roberts, 2018). I am having major threats from competitors,
which can majorly impact on career related life. The threats are also majorly related to
systematic growth of an individual for management of different operations.
PEST analysis in order to develop analysis of external and macro environment
Political
Political factors are the various tax policies, trade tariffs and fiscal policies which an
government can affect the industry. It affects the economical environment to an extent, which
usually changes the revenue changing structures. Al Pacino is affected by the Brexit which has
increased the overall business cost. COVID-19 has also affected the restaurant as most of the
customer base is ordering online but the workers in restaurant is demanding more pay for less
work which is leading overall loss to the restaurant.
Economical
Economic factors includes the interest rate, foreign exchange rate, inflation rate and
economic growth patterns, which affect the organisation at long term basis. Al Pacino is affected
by inflation rate as the raw material and ingredients price is increasing due to which all over food
price in menu is also increasing which can make the customer to switch to the competitive
restaurant.
Social
Social factors can affect due to cultural trends, population analytics and demographics
which affects the social environment of the organisation. The taste and choice of every person is
different and also differentiated by the age groups by taking that in mind menus are made in any

restaurant. Al Pacino has started including organic food rather than junk and spicy food
according to the changing preference of the customers.
Technological
Technological factors is known as the dynamic factors which includes the new
technology, innovation, development and automation according to the industry. Al Pacino has
introduced new scanning the bar code presented on table and order after the COVID-19 for the
precautions (Yang, and Wong, 2018). By installing latest software's which can detect less errors
and make more profit in the organisation.

CONCLUSION
From the above stated report it can be concluded that external and internal analysis are
most important to support work-based learning. This project concludes the importance of project
management in professional life of an individual. The above discussion concludes various stages
of project completion that play a significant role in supporting business development. This
project also concludes role played by Porter's five forces analysis in order to develop effective
business edge. This project also concludes concludes the significance of SWOT and PEST
analysis in order to develop effectiveness in the business.
