 Work Place Hazard can be also called as Occupational Hazard.
 Any work place that covers a potential risk to the people working in that
particular work place environment can be called as Work Place Hazard.
 There are different type of work place hazards in different work place
environment.
 Work place hazard can be either of Short term risk or long term risk.
 Short term effects of Work place Hazards include: physical injury, sweating,
increased heart beat.
 Long term effects of Work Place Hazards include: Cancer, Diabetes,
Chronic Stress, Cardio Vascular Heart Disease and even can cause death.

Work Place Hazard in Nursing
Out of all the professions nursing can be termed as
uniquely hazardous occupation.
 These could be due to the illnesses and injuries
associated with nursing profession which can be due to
work place environment.
Nurses and midwives account for 50% of the global
health work force. There is a growing demand of this
profession world wide (World Health Organisation 2019).
In the current working conditions the nurses are exposed
to various types of work place hazards, these type of
workplace hazards can lead to short term as well as long
term effects on the nurses.
