Introduction
The concept of work related safety of the workers in a work place is very important
for the health condition of the workers and it is the duty of the employers to secure the safety
of the workers in a work place (Khasawneh, 2014). In this essay, the role of occupational
health service in promoting the health of the workers and improving the working
environment is discussed briefly.
Discussion
Occupational health and safety refers to the concept of securing the safety of the
workers in a specific work station and it is mentioned that an employer is abide by to provide
a safe work place to their workers. As a part of this, the employers must assess the risks and
hazards of the work places and after assessing the work places properly the employers must
take appropriate actions in order the mitigate the risks present in the work place. Therefore, it
is the duty of the employers to recruit a health and safety manager so that he or she can take
proper actions to manage the work places correctly along with reduced amount of risks in the
work places (Rehan, 2017).
While discussing about the occupational health services organizations in the country,
it can be stated that the Ministry of Labour and Social Development has initiated the work
place health and safety considerations by launching the National Strategic Program for
Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). The government stated that that all the companies
and organizations must follow the rules of the National Strategic Program for Occupational
Safety and Health (OSH) (Muhammad, 2018).
The main functions of the occupational health services are associated with the safety
practices of the organization and the safety officers must ensure the safe practices in the work

places. The safety services organization should regularly visit the work places and perform
audits in the work places so that they can identify and record the hazardous incidents for
future references. Proper audit and assessment of the work places can help the employers to
take adequate actions for securing the health of the workers and as a part of this the
management must encourage the workers to use proper protective equipment to secure their
health (Balkhyour, Ahmad & Rehan, 2019).
For example, it can be stated that the workers can easily avoid adverse incidents such
as exposure to hazardous chemicals by using proper protective equipment such as masks,
gloves in the work places.
