INTRODUCTION
Team working and work with others in a business environment can be defined as
coordinated and cooperative efforts with aim of achieving common goals. Arcadia group is a
British retailing private sector company whose headquarter is in London, UK. It has about 2500
outlets in the UK. This study will show the importance of collaboration and feedbacks in order to
resolve conflicts from workplace (Barrett, 2015). Personal development plan helps employees in
strengthening their skills and knowledge and also remove their weaknesses.
TASK 1
a) Sector in which organisation operates
Arcadia group Ltd is a British multinational retailing company. It operates in private
sector whose headquarter is in London, united kingdom. It owns the high street clothing retailers
Topman, Topshop, Burton, Evans etc. This private sector company has more than 2500 outlets in
United kingdom.
b) Responsibilities of roles within the organisation
As a receptionist in Arcadia group private sector retailer, my responsibility is to maintain
all departments and coordinate them in order to work in an effective manner. My responsibility is
to welcomes all guests and customers by greeting them and providing them all necessary
informations. As a receptionist I am responsible for answering all phones and try to solve
customers and students problems at a first meeting with aim of satisfy them.
c) Comparison of responsibilities of roles within the organisation by using other departments
Within Arcadia group private sector company the main role of receptionist in customer
service department is to provide all the informations related to customers to that particular
department. They have to handle all the inquiries of the company and distribute mail to
departments and among all the members of the staff (Bureš and Rácz, 2017). They helps all
departments, for instance they attain phones of customers related to their issues and views and
then they provide the same information to customer services department. By getting information
related to customer, this department tries to solve customers problems and increases image of the
company.

a) Meaning of team dynamic
Team dynamic is the psychological and unconscious forces that influences the direction
of team performance and their behaviours in the company. Team dynamics can be good and bad.
For instance, when they focus on improving overall team performance which helps them to get
best out of individual member of team. In this case it can be good (De Brun and et.al., 2019). On
the other hand when they cause demotivation, conflicts then it can be bad.
b) Comparison of benefits of working alone to working with others
There is a difference in working alone and working with the help of others and with
them. When an individual and employee work alone in the company then they have to motivate
themselves because there is no other person to motivate them. Working individually and
independently can make person bored as there is no other person to share their views and to talk.
On the other hand working with team can increase collaboration and helps them in solving all
type of problems quickly and effectively. Team working also encourages communication among
employees by which they feel happy at workplace.
Working independently can be good sometimes as employees do not have to rely and
depend upon other employee in order to make decisions. They can get whole credit for their
good performance. On the other hand working with team requires meeting which consume time.
Decision making process can also take longer for the sake of finding a consensus which lead
delay in process.
c) Skill audit
Skill audit can be defined as a process of measuring the skills of a group of people and an
individual. Main objective of the company for conducting skill audit is to identify and analyse
knowledge & skills that the company requires for operating business in an effective manner. For
conducting skill audit of staff members there is a requirement of having clear understanding of
employees' abilities. After identifying skills they require to assign the right people to the right
place & project and then identifying the skill gaps with weaknesses and strengths of particular
area of the company. After identifying all the things it requires to plan for development activities
(Deep, Salleh and Othman, 2016). As a receptionist I have strength that I can handle customers

and employees problems in very effective manner. On the other hand my weakness is that I am
not able to use all resources because of inadequate staff.
d) Suggestion to working together to make use of individual strengths
Collaboration and working together with other departments of the company like sales
department and production department can help employees and the company in order to make
effective use of each individual strengths. Employees have various skills which can be used in
order to achieve goals such as some employees have leadership skills by which they can help
other employees and can also guide them in their work. With the help of this strength a manager
can achieve their determined goals.
e) Importance of working with others
Team working and working with others have a various important which are as follows:
Team working in the company with other department motivates unity at workplace.
It improves productivity of employees as well as of the company.
It provides sharing views and learning opportunity.
Team working develop employees skills.
It increases job satisfaction and decrease labour turnover.
f) Initiative in providing support to others
For motivating and providing support to members of team in the company, employees
can seek more responsibilities. By sharing ideas and speaking up to other departments and
members an individual and employee can take initiative. It can helps each others in handling
problems and challenges. For working in an effective manner, employees of sales department of
Arcadia group can provide regular status updates and informations related to customers needs
and demands to production department. Production department also take initiative by telling all
the features and characteristics of products to sales department (Le Roy and Fernandez, 2015).

a) Benefits of giving and receiving feedbacks
Effective feedbacks which may be positive & negative is very important and useful for
the company's growth and success. Feedbacks are important and valuable informations that helps
employees in knowing their strengths and weaknesses at workplace.
Giving and receiving feedbacks enhance and maintain self esteem of employees.
It increases the ability of active listening.
Balanced feedbacks motivates employees in order to improve performance.
Positive and balanced feedback increases happiness and growth for both sides.
b)Provide feedbacks to other for achieving objectives
There is a vast importance of feedbacks in an organisation. It is the cheapest and
powerful management tool that helps employees in motivating and energising. For providing
feedbacks to employees, manager tell them about their performance that you are doing great but
need to improve more. You are good at critical thinking skills which make you able to work
productively (Lechelt and et.al., 2016). For motivating, supervisor tell them that your all skills
are good but you require to focus on time management skill. It supports employees to get on the
right track if they do something wrong & it serves them as a guide in understanding that how
they are doing work. Employees also gets feedbacks from their peers in which they found that
they require to focus on communication skills which are creating various problems in the
company.

a) Example of sources of conflicts
There are various reason and sources that creates conflicts at workplace. Sources of
conflicts includes interpersonal relationship, external factors, poor communication, life changes
etc. The main reason of conflict is ineffective communication among all departments. It creates
problems of staff turnover, low morale and decreasing profitability. Sometimes it becomes the
reason of interpersonal conflicts and conflicts among employees of different departments.
External factors are another source like economic pressure, market trends that creates conflicts
with suppliers and clients. As changes in customers needs and demands put pressure to change
policies and decision making process.
b) Ways to resolve conflicts
There are various ways by which the manager and employees of Arcadia group private
sector company can adopt for resolving problems among teams. By setting the ground rules, by
providing communication skills training to all employees and by implementing the best and
effective communication channels for different departments of the company conflicts can be
resolved. Employees also can take initiative by sharing their views and information with other
employees. It can help them in improving and developing a strong relationship among them.
c) Most appropriate methods to resolve specific conflict
For solving interpersonal conflicts among employees, manager can focus on
collaboration and team working. Team working or work with others can help them in improving
their relationship (Yengin, 2017). If all employees work together then they are more likely to
share their ideas and opinions which increases their morale and make them happy. By providing
guidance to each employees of the company related to work, leaders can solve interpersonal
conflict.
d) Ways of preventing conflict from occurring
For preventing conflicts from occurring a manager can develop an effective strategies and
policies. Consultation is other best way of preventing conflicts among team at workplace. By
consulting with employees related decision making process. By telling all the policies related
rewards, bonus schemes it can ensure employees safety and can also manage the welfare of their

team members. Feedbacks also can help them from conflicts as they can give regular feedbacks
and questionnaires to employees which can increase their morale and self-esteem.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been concluded that team working played an important role
in the company in order to achieving determined goals in an effective manner. Feedbacks helped
employees in showing their current situation, strengths and weaknesses at workplace. Conflicts
created various problems in the company as they become the reason of labour turnover,
decreasing productivity etc. Consultation and effective communication channels prevented
conflicts from occurring in the company.
