INTRODUCTION Working in partnership in health and social care help different organisations to come and work together to get long term benefits(Glasby and Dickinson, 2014). Main goal of partnership is to enhance and increase involvement of staff members in operations so that all the executional activities can be performed effectively. It is focused with the partners who are working for a common goal and formulate effective strategies in order to attain the same. All the partners work with mutual understanding which helps to build trust among them (Brennan-Ing and et. al., 2014). This project report aims at the benefits of partnership in health and social care sectors in which a senior health and social care student is working in St. Vincent's Hospital. Various topics are discussed under this assignment that are philosophy of working in partnership in health and social care, evaluation of partnership relations, model, legislations, organisational practices and policies of partnership and differences in working practices and policies affect collaborative working. Evaluation of possible outcomes and potential barriers of partnership and strategies to improve outcomes are also discussed under this report. TASK 1 1.1 Explanation of philosophy of working in partnership in health and social care Partnership refers to that form of working in which two or more partners work together in order to attain the goals of the firm. It is very important for all the organisations who are working under health and social care to work in partnership so that all the responsibilities get distributed in all the partners. This step may help to enhance effectiveness at workplace. There are various philosophies that are required for all the partners while working in partnership in health and social care sector (Dickinson and O'Flynn, 2016). All the philosophies are explained below that are required to be implemented by the senior health and social care student while working in St. Vincent's Hospital with patients and healthcare professional: Empowerment:It is very important to empower the patients so that they may feel good and try to recover faster. It is essential for the senior student to empower them in order to reduce their worries about their health. Mainly it is suggested to the student to communicate with them so that they may become more friendly and the stress level of them get reduced. 1
Respect:The student should give respect to the patients and professional so that good relations can be established with both of them. If the student is giving respect to them than it may result in good and ethical environment for patients. Honesty:It is very important for the senior health and social care student to work honestly in St. Vincent's Hospital this may result in enhanced trust of the healthcare professional of hospital. If the student is not genuine than it is not possible to perform all the liabilities effectively because in this situation they will not support and cooperate for work (Dickinson and Sullivan, 2014). Trust:It is an essential element which should be build by the scholar in order to get support from the professionals at hospital. It is also suggested to the student to trust patients and the persons who are working there from a long period this will help to perform all the tasks effectively at workplace. Impartiality:The student should behave impartial with each patient this may help them to interact with staff members easily. If healthcare professionals are behaving partially than it may result in decreased trust of patients (Wyder and et. al., 2015). 1.2 Evaluation of partnership relations in health and social care There are various stages of partnership in health and social care organisations such asSt. Vincent's Hospital. The first one is that which is created at the service level in which all the professional are focused to provide best services to the patients. It helps to build good relations withinthehospitalsothatserviceusersandhealthcareprofessionalscaninteractand communicate effectively. Second stage of partnership in this sector is related to professional level in which various persons are working together in order to improve the health of patients. Various healthcare professional are involved in the treatment of patients who are visiting the hospital continuously to overcome their disease(Padgett, 2016). It is very important for all the employees ofSt. Vincent's Hospital to build good relations with their colleagues as well as the persons who are coming to the hospital. All the patients are required to be treated specifically and the doctors at St. Vincent's Hospital and the senior student should communicate with them, provide knowledge of life skills and get information of their psychology to find solutions for their problems. The third stage of partnership relation is organisational level in which healthcare professional of different organisations work together to provide best services to the patients (Picard, 2014). 2
