INTRODUCTION
This term related to all the services of the providers towards the health and social segmentation.
There are Govt. and private sector both are working for the health and social care. This file
discusses about philosophy ion working in partnership in health and social care , partnership
relations within health and social care services, models of partnership working across the health
and social care sector, current legislations and organisational practices and policies for
partnership working in health and social care , differences in working practices and policies
affect collaborative working , possible outcomes of partnership working for users of services
professional and organisations, potential berries to partnerships working in health and socials
care services and the strategies to improve outcomes for partnership working in health and social
care services(Dickinson, and O'Flynn, 2016).

1.1 philosophy in working in partnership in health and social care.
Health and socials care both field are working together because their purpose are same to
provide help to the people who are unable to do anything , who don't have money for their
treatment and who are not able to do work and , who are suffering from the many deceases and
who don't have enough money for their treatment. So health and social care centres are providing
the best free services to the required people. There are many agencies which are working for the
welfare of the people like they are working for the social care like NGO provide the meal and
home facilities to their children who do not have their parents, NGO provides them good
facilities of their studies also. And other side there is NHS , National health care services . Which
is working for the health services to the required people. So somehow both the sector are
providing good facilities to the people and they have their similar purpose so both sector are
working together for the people(Bryson, 2016).
Concept of partnership – it is all about the sharing and respect of others suggestions and
show care about others thought , partnership is concept to understand the feeling of other and let
team provide comfortless in working area. Partnership is all about sharing of power, views,
thoughts and work and achievement. It is, because of partnership based on the trust of each other.
Partnership based on the mutual understanding of both parties and their decision making process
by the discussion. Theses are many philosophies of the partisanship of health and social care and

these philosophies are written below-humanity, empower freedom, impartiality, equity, honesty,
trust .health and social care services work together.
There are mainly 4 philosophies are written below -
Empowerment- It is all about unity and freedom. It means every member in the staff is
an individual and free to choose his own specialization field of are according to his choice. It
show the , everyone in health care section has rights to choose work for the own . People can
choose their own timing for having food or for anything and staff also.
Respect- it is very necessary thing for them who are working in the health care sector and
social sector. Tom respect their patients. Respect and care which health care services provide
should be a very precious for the patients . All the patients and the staff members should not lose
their individuality .
Independence- it shows the every member who belongs to to health care and social care
industry is, independent and free. He can choose whatever e want to choose and whatever they
feels to do. Interdependency very important thing because patients can help to the management
by providing their feedback without any hesitation. They can guide advices and their reviews to
the management. And this think can be beneficial for the health care sector to improve the
quality of their services.
Making informed choices- it is an important thing for the health and social care sector
and care takers it means how a patient can communicate with care takers. Because patients are
the person who can better advice to the management.
1.2 Partnership relationship with health and social care services.
Partnership relationship with health and socials care shows the resource and sharing of power
process,overall the goals of then effective partnership and relationship increase the efficiency
and quality of the for the perspective of services. All the partners has same goals . All the
partners have their mutual understanding with others. And every partner has its dignity , trust and
respect within other. So partnership relationship is all about to create trust, faith within other and
work to achieve a common goal with mutual understanding.
In recent of years it has founded that there are many companies and agencies in health
and social care who wants to tie up with each other in the term of provide better facilities to the
people. They wants to show their ability to work to deliver different different qualities of the
services. Partnership relationship refer to the collaboration with two different parties or it can be

Govt. Agencies and private agencies they can work together with the aim of deliver the best
quality and facilities to the people with their different different ideas. Two or more than two
parties which work together to address any specific target to achieve is call partnership
relationship. For an example- all the policeman some times work with the different different
people of communities for the welfare of the society. As well as hospitals , dispensaries and
health care centre cant work together with the purpose to provide medical facilities to the
people(Cameron, and et.al., 2014).
now a days it became very necessary for the companies of he-lath care sector and
hospitals and others. To tie us with each other because there are some small hospitals who also
keeps the intentions to provide their facilities to the people , they also wants to provide medical
facilities and medical treatment to the people. But the problem is coming that they do not have
any back support , so they are not able to afford financial crises. And the other facilities like an
instruments ,medicines and the vehicle facilities etc. all the organisation choose working in
partnership because to improve the quality and facilities and the ability to provide health and
care services. Social and health care sector also wants to work in partnership with other because
partnership has an ability to tackle any issue and problem , so effectively and which can be so
difficult to handle from a one organisation only there are many big companies , which wants to
collaborate with the hospital and , want to enter in social , health and care sector. Because they
also want to support communities and the agencies which are working for the health and care
sector. And also it can be cause of the profit maximization of the company which is spending our
money .
Company can expand its image worldwide because many companies wants to break their
boundaries and collaborate with different different sectors. In many countries many organisation
tie up with socials and health care services for the benefit purpose . But it has been founded that
other different industry are not working effectively inn health and care sector. They are doing
this only for their brand image. Through the partnership it become very easy for the people to
approach any hospital or any social care centre. Govt. is also providing them many facilities and
the back support. Medicines and the ambulance facilities. So Govt. is also doing partnership with
many others hospitals to provide best services too the people like. Many Govt. hospital has
collaborated with the private hospital for the big big check ups. All the expenses will pay by the
government.

2.1 Different models of partnership working.
All the work of partisanships is to achieve the common goals of there area different different
models of partnership working these are written below-
The networking model- it is one of the simplest model of the partnership. This model
provides a common platform to achieve the goals. This platform will provide an opportunity to
all the working partner to share their views with each other so all the partners will get to know
about their responsibilities towards the objectives and they will try to achieve them. Social and
health care sector is one of the big sector across the world because there are many agencies are
working for their nation. They are providing many services like all the fundamental requirements
of them. So according to this model no any organisation can take the decision without asking
others. That means there is a need of at lest two members to go further. The purpose of this
model is to arise the funding policies and all the delivering services to the partners. This model
provides the connectivity among all the partners that means all the health care and social partners
will create a inter link with each other. And they will act like an integrated management system

the referral model system is about to agree to share the informations and refer the client to
other many several agencies it can be in the form of written agreement .The purpose of this
referral is to save the extra time from the repetition of the work and gathering Of informations.
The consortium model- is all about the beneficial purpose and the funding . There will
b a funding agreement if any company is supporting any agency. Company release the fund for
the different different agencies to work them properly . In the return of the fund . All the working
partners have to give their expensive in the term of all the operational instruments , and the bills
of the medicines etc. so this model s acquire for the funding process of other companies and
financial contracts with all the agencies and other partners. So overall this model says that whole
is much better than sum of its part(Stewart, and Wild, 2018.).
The multi agency working model- This is model where two or more then two hospitals,
organisations and the agencies work together jointly and contributes their resources for the
purpose of help each other. This model need to be partnership with each other and creating thee
relationship with each other with the purpose of help each other. Because it is very necessary to
build the trust between the all partner so they can trust each other without any negative intension.
And they will try to create a good relationship. An organisation draw the limitations and the laws
for the all pattern to collaborate with each other and for their agreements and work also. Because
thing helps to clarify the relations among all the partners. The purpose of multi agency working
model is to provide a platform where all the partner will come together and work together. There
are many more agencies which are working for the whole world and providing their services
across the world. These agencies are working around the world. These type of agencies are
being promoted by many of the big companies.
2.2 Current legislation and organisational practises and policies for partnership working in
health and social care
There are many rules and regulations has conducted for the for working in health and social care
this legislation are very important to understand the responsibilities of the different different
partners. These legislations are required for the maintaining the limits of all the partners so they
would not cross their limits these laws are designed by the Govt. for the purpose to provide
protection to the patients and employees of the organisation of the social health care sector.
There are current organisational practise and the legislations for the working partnership in the
social health and care sector are written below-

Mental capacity act 2005- This act is all about all those people who are not aware about
their life and they are not able to take any decisions to overcome from the bottom so this act is all
about the empowerment of these kind of people. That is why this act has name Mental act .
Because every person has rights about their life to take any decision , every individual has right
to freedom to do anything, so according to this act all the social care health and service agencies
should work for an individual mental health so that, an individual will not suffer from the mental

General food hygiene act 1995- according to this act ,the area where food is prepared should be
clean and clear this act says that all the food facilities which has provided by the different
different organisations and the hotels and other anywhere . All the places must be clean.
Because many of the places has the problem of decease. And it can be a cause of many big
deceases. So it is very important for them to keep their places neat and clear.
The social care act of 2012 shows their legal condition for the partnership to collaborate
with other agencies companies this act show the merger of the company that means there are
some stipulations from the govt. and all the companies and the parters would have to follow all

the condition's of the companies . They are bounded to follow all the rules and regulations of

So above all these acts are Govt. approved in the welfare of the social health and
services(Dickinson, and O'Flynn, 2016).
2.3 Differences in Working Practices And Policies Affect Collaborative Working
In organisation like NHS, the working practices affect the joint or partnership working of
an enterprise by increase in number of inter organisational conflicts (Acharya and et.al., 2017).
Due to this, the efficiency and effectiveness of delivering the health and social care services got
affected. Not only this much, the differences in the employment policies led to the recruitment of
inappropriate staff members in the organisation (Redmond, 2017). So, in this way it leads to the
termination or fall of partnership working in the organisation. In case of lack of proper
employment policies, it will lead to the unclear roles and responsibilities for the members of the
steering group of organisation (Townsend and Morgan, 2017). The differences in the monitoring
and the evaluation techniques for assessing the partnership operations will definitely lead to the
lower achievement of organisational goal. Confidentiality and lack of information or reduced
access to the information held by other parties in the partnership working will lead to the
suspicion and reduced collaboration between the parties (Herrett and et.al., 2015). NHS is such
an organisation, which is using such working practices and is also giving its employees or the
team mates to access complete information in an organisation.
Now, following are the policies of legislation that are affecting the work culture in
following manner:-
Care Standards Act, 2000:- This act lays its focus on the standards of care that are set by
the government for each and every organisation (Lewis and et.al., 2016). The act
completely focuses on the issues of care that NHS has set for its patients and the
employees working there of (Glasby and Dickinson, 2014).
Health Services And Public Health Act,1968:- This act, emphasise on the health services
and on all the health related issues. NHS is looking after its patients who are suffering
from any sort of disease (Acharya and et.al., 2017).

Equality Act, 2010:- It is such an act, that brings altogether overall 116 separate pieces of
legislation into one single act (Nass and et.al., 2015). This act lays its focus on the
simplifying; strengthening; and harmonising the current legislation to provide Britain
with a new discrimination law that protects individuals and motivates the concept of
advance equality for all (Chu and et.al., 2016). This act provides a legal framework to
protect the rights of all the individuals. It includes:- equal pay; Sex Discrimination;
Employment Equality etc.
Data Protection Act, 1998:- It is an act, that is practice by an organisation in the respect
of information or the data stored on the computer about living people (Gagliardi and
et.al., 2015). Those organisations that do not give importance to this act, are at risk and at
anytime can come in the trouble. In NHS complete information regarding the storage of
data is kept secret (Eisler and Potter, 2014). It is important in all respect because it
provides a complete guidance and best practice rules for organisations and the
government to follow ways of using the personal data that includes:- Regulating the
processing of personal data; protecting the rights of the subjected data (Acharya and
et.al., 2017).
The Workplace Regulations Act, 1992:- This act lays complete focus on the health; safety
and welfare of the employees that are working over there (Redmond, 2017). It stipulates
general requirement on the accommodation standards at the workplace of each and every
employee (Townsend and Morgan, 2017). These regulations are generally concerned with
the details of the basic provisions that are made at the workplace. It includes:- sanitary
provisions; standards of housekeeping and cleanliness; temperature; ventilation;
decoration etc. and required provisions for the safety (Herrett and et.al., 2015). In this
case, NHS has maintained the all the standards of working at the workplace.

3.1 Possible Outcomes Of Partnership
By working in partnership with any similar organisation the working efficiency and the
effectiveness of NHS can be improved by adopting the following ways:-
Leadership:- By entering in partnership with any other firm or the organisation this type
of skill will be build up and boosted (Lewis and et.al., 2016). If NHS is entering in

collaboration with any other healthcare firm then, the managers or the employees
working in NHS will work on their leadership skills (Glasby and Dickinson, 2014). Let
suppose, if they work with Red Cross, a healthcare organisation. In such case, the
employees of both the firm will going to learn something.
Purpose:- By entering into partnership, the purpose of both the firms get solved Chu and
et.al., 2016). Reason being its a common purpose of both the firms that they are serving
the society by giving their best in terms of medical facilities. The main thing here is that,
both the firms share a common vision and their purpose builds up trust and also
recognizes the value and contribution of all the employees that are working with them
with the motive of satisfying the needs and wants of all those who are feeling sick and are
unable to do their own tasks even (Nass and et.al., 2015). This leads to the improved
coordination of policies; programmes; and service delivery that are framed by the top
level managers of both the firms.
Culture And Values:- From partnership, the culture and values of different employees
gets changed (Gagliardi and et.al., 2015). When the two firms and employees are
working together then, its quite obvious that, the moral and ethical values of employees
of both the firms will be exchanged with each other. NHS, by working with RED Cross,
exchange the work culture and moral values with each other (Eisler and Potter, 2014).
Here, mutual understanding and an acceptance of difference in respect of work culture
are the base for successful partnership of employees. It only comes when the partners
have respect for each other at the work place and also know that, how to handle the
strength and weakness of each others (Glasby and Dickinson, 2014).
Learning And Development:- Healthy partnership among the firms promotes an
atmosphere of learning. It also involves monitoring and evaluation which is aimed at
improving the performance of members of both the organisation (Herrett and et.al.,
2015). An open mindset along with the desire to achieve and learn something is really a
good option as on outcome that, invests in the skill set of partners and the knowledge
earn by them will create a pool of opportunities for them in the future (Townsend and
Morgan, 2017).

Sharing Of Technology And Resources:-When the employees of both the organisation
i.e. NHS and Red Cross will work together then, undoubtedly, there will be a sharing of
improved and enhanced technology in the health care operations (Redmond, 2017). The
use of improved technology will definitely prove to be helpful in case of collaboration
among the firms. The firms should focus on the hiring of talented and skilled employees
in the organisation, by the score of, recruitment of such employees will make the work of
both the enterprise very easy and the society will recommend or prefer for such
organisation's only for sake of treatment (Lewis and et.al., 2016).
Performance Management:- The organisation has set some parameters in respect of
performance of both the employees that are working together. In this case, when there
will be use of improved and updated technology, the performance of employees of both
the firms will result in increase (Glasby and Dickinson, 2014) .
Communication:- For the success of any partnership, communication plays a major role.
Its like the base of any successful collaboration (Townsend and Morgan, 2017). In NHS,
with the help of strong feedbacks the loops in the entire process is outlined from the
initial stage itself and the resultant outcome is that, the society is able to get proper health
care services.
3.2 Potential Barriers To Partnership
There are many hindrances in the path of effective partnership. The barriers in the path of
effective partnership are as follows:-
Limited Vision Or Failure To Inspire:- It is a barrier in the path of effective partnership
(Townsend and Morgan, 2017). If the vision or inspirational power is not residing within
the top level management to motivating the team members with the spirit of paying
attention with the positive attitude of serving the society (Chu and et.al., 2016). The
vision should be in a longer perspective. If the firm is having a very limited vision then,
in such case, it would be able to achieve its short term goal but, fort long run it will
definitely fail (Redmond, 2017).
Failure To Communicate:- It acts as a failure in the partnership which is running under
collaboration (Lewis, M. A., and et.al., 2016). Until and unless the partners will not
communicate with each other in an effective manner, they will not be able to serve the

society in the best way. Communication becomes a barrier for the firm when the both the
firms are ready to take action for achieving a common goal and in such case any
misunderstanding takes place.
Failure To Learn:- If any organisation wants to exist in this competitive world, then, it
should never stop learning (Gagliardi and et.al., 2015). It should always try to learn
something new and innovative with the help of which, it can provide the best solution and
service to the society in the required field. By the score of, the technology always keeps
on changing, and use of innovative and updated machineries and equipments in hospitals,
in respect of curing the deceased person will definitely prove to be helpful for the
organisation (Nass and et.al., 2015).
Lack of Clear Or Inconsistent Understanding Of Purpose:- When the organisation itself is
not clear in respect of purpose, then, it would not be able to achieve the organisational
goals (Eisler and Potter, 2014). It is a barrier in the partnership of any organisation
because its very necessary for a firm to know what is its exact purpose or in what respects
it is required to survive. Until and unless the top level management will not be clear
regarding the purpose of surviving in the society it will unable to perform its desired
actions (Gagliardi and et.al., 2015).
Difference In The Work Styles:- Undoubtedly, there will be differences in the work styles
of every individual. Here, the two different firms are serving the society in respect of
health issues (Glasby and Dickinson, 2014). Although, the goal of both the organisations
is same but, they are following or adopting different work approaches of reaching
towards their goals i.e. to serve the society. So, in some way or the other it's also acting
like a hindrance in the partnership.
Inadequate Understanding Of Roles And Responsibilities:- Its plays a crucial role as a
barrier in the field of partnership (Townsend and Morgan, 2017). If an employee or the
team workers are truly unknown in the respect of their roles and responsibilities that are
required to be shouldered by them then, in such case an organisation is unable to perform
its responsibilities in an effective manner. So, for an organisation its quite necessary to
know the roles and responsibilities at first and after that, it can perform the required
action (Townsend and Morgan, 2017).

Conflicts:- The conflicts in partnership business could be in any sense. It could be
regarding the profit sharing among the partners; it could be in respect of agendas that are
made by the operations or the top level management and also in respect of
communication in respect of any information that is not shared by the other partners or
the team members in the organisation (Herrett and et.al., 2015).
In the organisation, NHS, no such type of barrier exists.
3.3 Strategies to Improve Outcomes For Partnership
A proper framework should be made to improve the resultant outcomes for the
partnership. The strategies are as follows:-
Service Specific Planning:- The health and social care services should be improved by
making a proper strategy regarding service providing and also in respect of
accomplishment of task (Herrett and et.al., 2015). Affiliation of these clusters differ on
the basis of resolution but, it generally involves union from the partners' constitution and
charitable sector activities. It could be made more specific by planning out what type of
service is to be given to which employee in the organisation. If an organisation, is
focusing on the service which is related to health then, it would be in a profitable
situation (Acharya and et.al., 2017).
Sub-Division Of Workforce:- The improved outcomes for partnership depends upon the
division and subdivision of workforce. It includes- staffing; assortment; training and
development and retention of the employee. As mentioned these factors will lead to the
outcome of improvement in the health and social care services as well. Dividing a major
task into small parts and further those small parts in to sub-parts leads to the
accomplishment of bigger task which is undertaken by the organisation. In the same way
if the workforce will be divided as per the allotment of task in the organisation, then, the
work will be completed without any issues (Redmond, 2017).
Proper And effective Flow of Communication:- There should be a proper and effective
flow of communication in an organisation. The partnership between the organisation
would be definitely successful in case of proper flow of communication. In case of,
health and social care services a proper communication is required among the staff

2016).
Develop And Improved Strategies:- It is a more effective process within a partnership,
which will lead the best outcome for the health and social services in the medical industry
(Nass and et.al., 2015). A strategic planning is required/grounded on clear credit of the
long term welfares and value added in working together with a partner to attain the exact
outcome that will going to advantage from the balancing and axillary strengths.
Such type of partnership, needs devotion to important values of parity as well. The centre
inspires an individual working relations among the experts. It will help as a good option for
strengthening institutional level of partnerships (Herrett and et.al., 2015). Here, the main purpose
is mutual technical strengthening, and it's a completely different conduct of observation at
partnership, but, their typology is not focusing on any such strategies. In fact, the focus is on
applied preparations to involve in, to achieve and to tolerate the creative partnerships.
CONCLUSION
The project report focuses on the philosophy of working in partnership in the health and
social care in NHS - a health care organisation in the society. Along with this, the organisation
also focus on maintaining relationships in partnership with the other organisations like Red
Cross. It also lays emphasis on the different models of partnership in the health and social care
sector and the policies and practices in context of current legislation and organisation. The
assignment done shows the differences that arise in workplace and the practices and the policies
that affect the collaborative working. Further it includes the possible outcomes in respect of
services profession and the organisation and also the strategies that are required to be framed to
improve the working of partnership between the NHS and Red Cross.
