INTRODUCTION
Working in partnership in health and social care refers to perform in team with proper
cooperation by exchanging information about particular patient. It will provide support to
conduct correct treatment process to make them healthy. It is necessary for different medical
professionals including nurse, doctor, specialist and surgeon to work in partnership through
completing their tasks properly in order to make an individual well being (Glasby and Dickinson,
2014). However, partnership among health care organisations is required as patients were
referred to other hospitals as per their medical condition through making appropriate
communication about patient's diagnosing reports. Moreover, there are various types of strategies
and policies which should be followed by medical professionals in different institutions to
provide correct medication for infected persons. The present report will focus on philosophy of
working in partnerships and relationships to work as partners in health & social care. It will also
include models of partnerships and current legislations, practices & policies to work in
partnership. The possible outcomes, potential barriers and effective strategies to improve outputs
of working in partnerships in health & social care is given below.

1.1 Philosophy of working in partnerships
The partnership working in health care organisation is required as it impacts on treatment
procedure of an individual which is carried out to solve medical problem. It involves to make
appropriate communication among group of medical professionals associated with specific case
so they can complete their tasks in accurate manner to make them healthy. However, it is
essential to establish better cooperation between medical professionals in respect of providing
correct medication to an individual (Glasby, 2017). As per given case study, there is no
information about a person wandering in the streets but through help of previous record,
paramedics provide proper medication to him. In addition to this, there are various philosophies
of working in partnerships which should be followed in health care sector are explained further –
Empowerment of service users and partner organisations – This can be described as
an authority or power to make decisions and provide own point of views. It is an effective
philosophy in which proper sharing or required to employees in hospitals so that they will fulfil
their roles in appropriate manner to make patient well being. However, in context of given case,

it is important to share correct information about patient to doctors and nurses which is
mandatory to make them healthy.
Independence and interdependence The independence correct records about
diagnosis of an individual is helpful to a medical professional in order to conduct primary
treatment (Parrott, 2014). It will provide help to analyse actual health problem of a person which
facilitate to make correct decision in terms of rendering proper medication for their welfare.
According to given case, paramedics team work independently gain previous information about a
person through computerised records to analyse actual medical needs quickly.
Autonomy – This can be explained as the strategy of providing authority to make
immediate and quick decisions at their level to sort out small issues. It is observed that many
situations needs immediate action and taking permission for particular aspect may leads to
complicated condition of patient. On the basis of given scenario, it is necessary to provide liberty
to staff members for conducting primary medication activities so that complications in his
medical condition can be avoided.
Respect – The respect can be described as give value to an individual as per their skills,
knowledge and abilities. It is essential to provide respect for every employee and make them
valuable in health care organisation so they will perform their roles or duties with honesty. Their
loyal performance and hard work towards patients impacts positively on health of them which
facilitate to make them well being (Dickinson and O'Flynn, 2016).
Power sharing & making informed choices – This can be described as to utilise
strategy of delegation of authority which is helpful to take quick decisions which is important in
health care while dealing with patients due to complications. As per given case, employees can
provide primary medication to him which facilitate to reduce complications in their condition.
1.2 Evaluate partnerships relationships within health & social care
Partnership working is helpful and facilitate to attain maximum outcomes but it is
requires effective relationship between partners so that they can cooperate with each other. It is
essential to make an appropriate relation among medical professionals so that they can perform
with mutual understanding which impacts positively on outcomes of medications. However, it is
essential to avoid issues or conflicts among professionals as it effects performing efficiency of
whole team working on patients together and desired outcomes may reduced accordingly. As per
