Literature Review
Problems faced by working women in India
Women in India who are working have to face a lot of problems and also, they have to
manage their home problems as well. This is also because they have to deal with various
problems such as mental harassment, discrimination, lack of support from the family members as
well as job insecurity. It can be stated that it is important to ensure that working women do not
face such problems as these can have an impact on their professional as well as personal life
(Devi, Singh and Kansal, 2020). There are many workplaces wherein the working women have
to deal with various issues such as gender bias, mental pressure as well as lack of proper support
from colleagues at the workplace. Also, gender pay gap is another important problem that
working women generally face at their respective workplace. It is important to ensure that these
problems are identified as well as addressed at the workplace. This is because it will ensure that
the overall problems are addressed in an effective manner and that there is an increase in the
overall efficiency as well as productivity. Also, the working women will be able to work in an
effective manner. Many workingwomen in India also face the problem wherein they are paid less
in comparison to the male workers. This can lead to a decline in the productivity as well as
efficiency of the employees to a great extent.
Also, women continue to remain under represented at the workplace in India still and it is
important to ensure that this does not take place. Although there are a lot of women in India who
do not face any problems or have to deal with less problems. Because of these problems, the
performance of the women is getting affected and it is important to make sure that these are
addressed in an effective manner. A lack of family support is another problem that the women
have been facing in the workplace. They have to ensure that they put in their best efforts to get
the different tasks assigned to them completed on time. Job insecurity is another important
problem that should be addressed in an effective manner. Therefore, these problems can have an
effective impact on the overall efficiency of the firm as well as the working women.
