WORKPLACE BULLYING1Response to Question 1: Each employee working at his workplace expects to be justly and fairly treated and theprinciples of organizational justice emphasize that each employee must be treated withdignity and respect, and interrelation amongst the employees must reflect a sense of mutualrespect and integrity (Matthiesen and Einarsen 2015). However, in case of workplacebullying, the supervisors often resort to unjust behaviour that have potentially negativeconsequences of employee health and well-being. The unjust way in which an employeemight be bullied or harassed by the boss may de-motivate, frustrate and stress out anemployee that does break his sense of self-worth and dignity at workplace. Response to Question 2: Workplace bullying disastrously impact health, emotional well-being and mentalstability of an employee. Consequently, losing his sense of dignity, an employee loses interestin coming to office regularly, and thus absenteeism and low productivity at work areexpected results of the same (Adams 2014). Besides, after being continually ridiculed ormocked for his action, an employee may also lose confidence and faith in his ability toaccomplish tasks. I personally believe that being bullied, one should try to stop acting scared andintimidated, and if needed, must retaliate by complaining about the boss to the concernedauthority. If I were bullied at workplace, I would definitely not be silent about it, and ratherwould escalate the matter to the higher authority with proper evidence and ensure that theperpetrator gets punished.
