Scientific management theory
The scientific management is the theory which analyses work flows in order to improve
the economic efficiency especially within the employees productivity. this is the management
theory which has been developed Fredrick Winslow Taylor. The author gave the concentration
on the supervisory level of management and performance of the managers and workers at an
operational level. There were five principles which were given by the Taylor in order to manage
the people and work in an effective and efficient way within the organisation. The various
principles are discussed below; Science, not the rule of thumb- This is the principles which concentrates on the increase
of the efficiency of an business enterprise through the scientific analysis of the work and
not with the rule of thumb. The Fredrick Winslow believed that event a small task can be
planned and conducted in order to achieve the utmost effectiveness. He also identified
that it is very important to take the right decisions by scientifically proving the methods
and analysing the different perspective by the managers of the business organisation. Harmony not Discord- This is the principles which is given by the Taylor suggests that
the relationship between the employees and the managers should be cordial and
completely harmonious. If there is the difference between these two relationship then the
organisation cannot achieve its goals in an effective and efficient manner. It is very
essential for the management the employees to understand the each others importance in
order to work inordinately and in an effective manner. It is very important to have
harmony within the organisation so that the behaviour of employees within the
organisation is in positive way. (Ainscow, M., 2018) Mental revolution- This is the principles which is related to the shift of the attitude of the
management and the employees working in an organisation. It is very important for the
both of them to understand each others perspective and work inordinately in order to
achieve the goals and objectives. The aim of the both management and the workers is to
improve and boost the profits of the business organisation. This is the principles which is
related to the complete change within the outlook of both the management and workers
where they both should have sense of togetherness. Cooperation not individualism- This is the principles which is similar to harmony where
it believes in the mutual collaboration between the manager and the workforce of the

business enterprise. It is very essential for the team to have the mutual understanding and

Development of every person to their greatest efficiency- It has been identified that the
effectiveness of the business organisation relies on the abilities and skills of its
employees. It is very important for the managers to adopt the serval training, learning and
best practices in order to brush up the skills of the employees. It is identified that this is
the principles which need to be adopted and it is the responsibility of managers to make
ensure of the right training and development of the right employees in order to achieve
the goals and objectives of the business organisation.
it has been identified that from the different management theories it is essential to
develop the sense of the developing the changes within the organisation. In context of the Marks
and Spencer it is analysed that the various management theories can be applied in order to work
in an effective and efficient manner. The various management theories plays a vital role in the
development of the behaviour of the workforce. It is essential for Marks and Spencer to evaluate
these theories within the workforce which has a great influence in the mindset of the employees
to work towards the goals and objectives of the business Enterprise. (Song, X. and McCarthy, G.,
2018)
Organisational changes

management system in terms of the beliefs, values and attitude. As these are the different
perspective which can impact the workforce behaviour within the organisation. As every

changed in order to face the challenges in an effective manner. It has been analysed that it is very
essential for the company to handle the working environment so that the workforce is motivated

pandemic. It has been analysed that after the pandemic the people are refereeing the use of the
technology is most effective way which can change the perspective of completing the task for the
employees and as well as for the business organisations. From the different approaches and the
identification it has been analysed that every individual has the different beliefs, values and
attitude which can impact in the performance of the task within the organisation. As it is very
essential for the business organisation to consider the different management theories in order to
be effective and efficient while achieving the growth and success. (Rasheed, S.P., Younas, A.
and Sundus, A., 2019)

Discriminates between the belief, attitude, value within the workplace
It has been identified that the belief, attitude and the values system can be differentiated
as these are the different terms for an individual within the workplace. In context of the
workplace every individual has different mindset in order to accomplish goals and objectives. It
is very important to analyse the different perspective and the culture in order to identify the
working and their perspective of an individual to work with the other employees.
Belief is defined as the internal feeling that something is true, even though that believe may be
unproven or irrational. (Hunter, K. and Cook, C., 2018)
The value is defied as the measure of the worth or importance an individual attaches to
something. The values are reflected in the way we lives and it depends on the surroundings. This
is related to the values and the speech which an individual is able to develop from the family
backgrounds and learning experiences.
Attitude is defied as the a way an individual expresses or applies their values and beliefs
which is expressed in the form of the words or the behaviour. This is the way in which the
individual is able to show their values and beliefs in order to react over a certain aspect.
(Cotterell, D., Hales, R., Arcodia, C. and Ferreira, J.A., 2019)
In context of the marks and spencer it has been identified that the beliefs, values systems
and attitude of the management is different where the organisation belief is serving the best
quality of products or services to its customers, employees and other stakeholders. It is very
essential for the company to have a positive culture so that the employees are motivates and they
have the motivation in order to behave in an effective manner within the organisation. It is value
system of the company plays a significant impact over the employees and their behaviour of
working within the organisation. The attitude is related to the values which has been
incorporated within the individual and the reaction on the certain aspect. It is very important for
the organisation to develop the positive attitude towards employees which can boost the
productivity of employees in achieving the growth and success within the business organisation.

to conduct the organisation workings and the flow of the operational activities. This plays a
major role for the organisation in achieving the and maintaining the positive environment within
the workplace. The organisation requires the changes within the management so that the
employees are able to adopt to the various activities in order to overcome with the challenges
which has been faced after the pandemic. (pring, J., 2018)
Critically assesses organisation’s own beliefs, attitudes and value systems and their impact
on workplace behaviour.
From my experiences I would like to reflect that the organisational beliefs, attitude and
value system can impact the behaviour of the workforce in order to perform the different task. It
is very essential for the organisation to adopt to the management theories in order to have a
systematic flow of communication in order to work in an effective manner. From the various
lectures notes I have understand that belief, attitude and the value are different for every
individual and this can impact and change in the behaviour of the individual which has a impact
over the business Enterprise. I was able to understand in order to match the beliefs with the
organisation it is very important to understand the various aspect of the organisation. The critical
thinking is the major aspect which need to be developed in order to perform the task effectively
and effectively. From the various lecture and during my academic learning I am able to identify
that these three are the different aspect and has a major impact within the workplace behaviour.
As the working of the organisational goals and objectives depends on the behaviour of the
employees. (Chou, S.Y. and Ramser, C., 2019). It is very essential for the managers to have an
effective strategies within the workplace in order to achieve the goals and objectives in an
effective and efficient manner. I have also learn that critical thinking plays a major role in
making believe that this can help in achieving the objectives in an effective and efficient manner.
The critical thinking is define as the ability of an individual to think in different ideas where they
need to develop their mindset in such a way that there are solutions for the various challenges
which might be faced by the organisation in order to conduct the business operations. The critical
thinking has both the positive and negative aspect for the business performance. It has been
identified that the workplace behaviour depends on the behaviour of the organisations with the
different aspect. As I am able to identify that the organisations own beliefs, attitude and value
system has a impact on the workplace behaviour. As I am able to analyse that there is a diverse
and huge impact of the belief and value system, of the organisation. As employees are able to

grab the various aspect from their surroundings. It is very important for the organization to have
such a culture which is adaptable by the individual. The value system is related to the
functioning of the organisation in such a manner that it is believed that every individual is able to
learn that how the working can be conducted within the business enterprise.(Foster, K., Cuzzillo,
C. and Furness, T., 2018)
From my learning I have experienced that the workplace behaviour is changing and it is
dependent also on the changes which has been brought within the organisation. In context of the
Marks and Spencer as it is very important to bring the change an develop the workplace in such a
manner that after pandemic it is very challenging to work in such a environment which was
making difficult for the employees and managers. I have analysed that it is very important for the
organisation to develop change and the various management theories in order to have an
effectiveness within the organisation. The behaviour of the employees is dependent on several
factors such as the motivation, the skills and knowledge which has been provided by the
companies in order to develop their mindset. It has been identified that it is very essential for the
managers to develop and provide with the development of an individual with their skills and
knowledge which can impact with the organisational performance. This also have an impact in
achieving the objectives in an effective and effectiveness manner. The workplace behaviour is
dependent upon the organisational beliefs and value systems. For example if the organisation is
having a rigid culture and values where the behaviour of the employee's can be negative and this
can impact the organisation and its performance. It is very essential for the managers to identify
and analyse their own beliefs and values which has boost the morale of the employees and this
can have an effective behaviour within the workplace. (Ting-Toomey, S. and Dorjee, T., 2018)
Appropriate management theory to evaluate how someone with different beliefs, attitudes
and values might interpret the theory differently.
As the different management theories which has been discussed is important for every
business organisation in order to have the growth and success. The workplace and the behaviour
of the employees depends on the management system which has been followed and the different
belief and value system which has been adopted within the organisation. It is very essential for
every individual to have their own beliefs, attitude and values which can can be different from
the organisational values, beliefs and attitude. As the different theories studies able states that it

can be happen that an individual can interpret in a different manner because of the different
mindset and the different beliefs and value system. This depends on the culture aspect also where
every individual is different and has different thinking. As in context of the management theories
an identification of the different theories effectively. It is very essential for the individual to
develop the critical thinking in understanding the theories of management in order to meet the
business requirements.(Neubert, M.J. and Dyck, B., 2021). It is very important to understand the
belief is the something is the interpreted by the individual. There is the different in the beliefs of
an individual. So this is possible that the management theories can be interpreted differently
because of the different belief system for an individual within the workplace and the
organisation. I am able to identify the the own beliefs can develop in the different strategies and
interpretation of eh management theories in a different way. It is very essential to develop the
understanding for the management within the organisation so that an individual can develop the
sense of practising the theories in their working aspect for the growth of the business
organisation. (Brown, K., 2018)
The difference in the understanding of the various aspect can lead to the different interpretation
of the management theories. The mindset of an individual plays important role in understanding.
I have analysed that in the interpretation of the different management theories the critical
thinking is the most important aspect which need to be developed so that an individual can
become and footer the growth of the business organisation.(Schermerhorn Jr, J.R., Bachrach,
D.G. and Wright, B., 2020)
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that developing workplace and critical
thinking within the employees is the most important aspect for the business organisation. It is
very essential for the Marks and Spencer to develop various management theories so that the
workplace behaviour can be measured and the employees can work in an effective and efficient
manner. It is essential that the organisation can focus on the change management theories for the
development of the organisation. It has been identified that the belief , attitude and value system
of the organisation can different from the beliefs of an individual. It is very important for an
individual to develop the value system in order to have an effectiveness for the change within the
organisation. The reflection which has been conducted suggests that from my learning
experience I have learn that it is very important for the management to have control and develop

various skills and knowledge within the employees in order to boost their productivity and
