Importance of workplace
environment
• Workplace environment is essential to the success of an
organization thus, suitable environment at the workplace
is key to the success of an organization.
• The workers spend significant amount of time in the
workplace. It is essential to provide the workers and
employees suitable environment at the work place to allow
them to give their best for the organization.

Business stores
• The business has two separate stores; these are as
following:
1. Mono store.
2. Department store concession.
In order to operate these stores the business has set up two
different teams with necessary dynamics. The discussion on these
teams and dynamics are provided in the next slide.

Mono store
• The Mono store of the business has a team with 6 team
members.
• The mono store sales only one brand unlike department
store where products of different brands are available.
• It is important to have suitable environment at the mono
store to improve the organizational objectives.

Department store
• The department store sales products and services of
different brands unlike Mono store where only products
and services of a single brand is sold and provided.
• The department store concession has a team consisting of
3 team members including a team leader.

Issues in teams
• There has been no issues reported between the team
members of Department Store.
• However, tension between the team members of Mono
Team causing significant problem to the business
operations in the department.
• The collaboration and cooperation between team
members have reduced significantly due to the tension
between the team members.

Importance of changing store
environment
• Since the collaboration between the team members of
Mono store has reduced there have been number of issues
experienced in the store.
• It is important to change the environment in the store to
improve the collaboration and cooperation between the
team members (Boyd, Tuckey & Winefield, 2014).
• The steps to be taken to improve the store environment
are mentioned in the next slide.

Steps to improve store
environment
Following steps shall be taken to improve the store environment:
Changes in the team members.
Replacing the team members with new members.
Interchanging the team members between two separate teams.
Encouraging team spirits.
Showing benefits of collaboration and cooperation.
Motivating the team members.

Encouraging the team members
• Encouraging the team members to collaborate with each
other to create a friendly environment by showing the
benefits of working together will be helpful in creating a
friendly and conducive work environment in the Mono
store.
• The benefits shall be multi-folded as not only the financial
performance of the store will improve but the teams
members will also get financial advantage in the form of
enhanced salary due to better performance of the
organization.

Steps to motivate team members
• Rewarding the team members in the form of monetary and non
monetary rewards for better departmental performances.
• Giving promotions to the workers.
• Making the team members feel part of the organizational success.
• Introducing interesting and new work culture within the teams.
