WORKPLACE REFLECTION Stage 1 Describing the event I was appointed as a technician designer at Approval Mark International in my internship program. There are various events that took place during this period. I have learnt a lot of things while working for this organization. I have learnt scheduling and prioritizing task, stress management, team work and communication in this entire process. What did I expect would happen before going in to the event? Before going to the event, I was very nervous and worried about the new environment and the people whom I would get as my colleagues and seniors. However, I expected that I would learn a lot during my entire tenure. What was the actual outcome from the event? The actual outcome of the event was very much the same from what I had anticipated in it. I always worried about the new environment at my workplace but the tension subsided as soon as I reached the place and was introduced to the colleagues and seniors.I have learned effective communication and team work. I have also learnt regarding prioritizing and scheduling the tasks, handling stress and to make prompt decision making What was your role (what were you doing) during the event? My role was to assist the engineers in various steps of the designing process. I was helping them to collect and interpret data, scheduling the tasks, creating cost estimates and help them in reviewing the reports My supervisor was a senior engineer of the laboratory who always helped me with all aims and controls.At first, I found the job to be quite difficult and faced a number of issues regarding creation of cost estimation, prioritizing tasks and handling stress management.
WORKPLACE REFLECTION Stage 2: What were my emotions? During the event, I was very nervous with my job role, but when my look back on it, I feel very satisfied at the experience in which I was subjected to. My supervisors in the organization were very cordial and supportive and made me feel as a part of their team which instantly sparked a connection between me and them. The seniors were really helpful that helped me to be a part of their team and organization. What did I do that affected the outcome? I was always punctual and have zeal to learn new things. I used to ask many questions to my supervisors to clear my doubts and worked according to the expectations. Though initially I faced problems, but, later on, I coped up with the situation. I always believed in team work, which further helped me in time and stress management. What did others do that affected the outcome? My supervisors believed on work ethics.They gave me a series of responsibilities like project costs scheduling and running complex functions and programs. This further helped me to learn more and performing as per their expectations. External factors Yes, there were external factors like market conditions, stakeholder’s expectations that affected my work in a positive manner. How do I think I performed given the circumstances?
WORKPLACE REFLECTION According to me, I performed well as per the expectations given by my supervisors. I was successful in stress management. I was successful while collecting data, running complex programs and creating effective estimation of costs. Clearly state ONE main thing that I learnt from the event and outcome One thing that I learnt in the due course is team work with effective time management skills. This will further helped me to grow in my future activities.This lesson will surely help me to improve my future and help me to understand the various implications for the same. I learnt about various tools and techniques to make the work beneficial for my own self and make sure that the processes help me to achieve my targets.

WORKPLACE REFLECTION Stage 3 Examples Before starting my work at Approval Mark International, I was not sure about the corporate world. I had no practical knowledge. I had clear idea the chapter Stress Management. But when, I was into the job, I realized both the things were totally different. Secondly, I have also realized that in class, I had to improve my knowledge and at work I needed to implement my knowledge. After my work at Approval Mark International, I did not score good marks in other subjects, as I came over confident. Therefore, it was important for me to realize that I have not finished all learning. Types of research In order to perform well in the future, I needed to improve at certain areas of my research like Problem-based learning with practical examples, seminar and discussion of issues, single and double loop learnings. I would also do online research of various journals to gain my knowledge effectively. I would also consult a senior faculty member at to help me improve my knowledge and learning and help me reach the goals within the time frame allocated. Online research and textbooks are some of the other means which I can implement in the areas of my knowledge and improve the same.
WORKPLACE REFLECTION Stage 4 Change of behaviour There will be loads of changes in my behaviour. I will be more matured enough to handle stress. I would be able to communicate with people effectively and focus more on team work. In the future, I will make sure to implement more knowledge and my degree in the field of mechanical engineering to make my ideas and work more creative and develop organizational skills for my future. The internship skills in the process has also helped me to make sure that I work in a manner that is best for the situation and also to see if I can implement my knowledge in the matter. New Behaviour The new behaviour will work for me as I have learned lot of skills like time management, stressmanagement,effectivecommunicationandconfidentincostestimation.Iwas determined to develop something new for the company and accepted all the responsibilities given to me with all ease. My colleagues and professors were really happy to see the changes in my new behaviour and it will further help me to climb up the ladder. Why this plan suits me personally The plan will suit me personally as I work really hard for each of the tasks assigned and for the work which I do in my career path. My goal was to become a technician designer and since I am well equipped with the skills like time management, stress management and prioritizing tasks, this will further help me to attain my short term and long term goals effectively.
