Executive summary
The study is developed with the ethical perspective of keeping the workplace safe and free from
any kinds of accidents. Significant deficiencies have been identified in the organizational health
and safety program as evaluated by Workwell Evaluation. The proper assistance from the senior
management is desperately required to mitigate the identified issues. The study has developed an
effective action plan to locate and resolve the deficiencies. As per the guidance and ethical
policies of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations all the workplace safety
regulations have been maintained properly. I have described four deficiencies below that must be
concerned with the highest priority.

Subject: Workplace safety and health management
Due to the raising intensity for the workplace safety culture, there is a strong requirement for
creating a healthy and safe culture for the workers in the organization. The earlier fundamental
workplace security system was not employee centric in Canada. Moreover, it did not satisfy the
requirements of the workplace safety culture. Thus, there is a strong requirement for making a
safe and healthy workplace culture for the workers so that they can work with good health and
safety in the organization. Moreover, sufficient funding and medicines are required for an
effective outcome.

Background
Workplace safety is considered to be one of the biggest workplace issues of Canada over the
years. The workplace regulatory frameworks have also been developed in Canada to ensure the
safety to the workers in the workplace and promoting the management of the organization to take
initiative to assure workplace safety to the workers.
Areas for improvement
The four deficiencies in Canada’s workplace safety health culture is as follows

The training program of WHMIS is not greatly effective in Canada as per the organizational
requirement. The inefficiency in training program has reduced the interpersonal capabilities of
the employees. The employees must know the use of the chemical porducts during this training
program (Beblavy, Maselli & Martellucci, 2012).
Deficiency 2
Inappropriate awareness
The inappropriate awareness among the employees of WHMIS results in workplace safety issue.
The OHS legislative rights can play crucial role here. Moreover, they do not have proper
knowledge of safety health responsibilities (Norval, 2015).
Deficiency 3
Lack of precaution in wortkplace
The trained employees do not have effective awareness regarding the classification of product
hazards. Thus, they have inability in locating the effective precautions while handling and
storing products (Garzon, 2017).
Deficiency 4
Lack of inspection knowledge
The lack of inspection knowledge is one of the key deficiencies that has been identified among
the employees of WHMIS. This shows a desperate want of proper training to develop inspection
knowledge. ("Lack of breaks and workplace distractions affect safety", 2013).
Recommendations
Effective strategies must be developed by the management to assure healthcare safety. The safety
officers of the WHMIS need to update the program plan of WHMIS. They must ensure the use of
hazardous products in the Workplace. Additionally, the availability of the MSDS sheets must be
insured properly. WHMIS training should be mandatory for all the employees in the month end.
