Question 1: Discuss the scope of sustainability policy? Write your answer in 50-
100 words.
The scope of sustainability policy helps in describing a basic condition, where
human utilization of natural resources and needed for better continuation of
life. It is a procedure, in which the companies can fulfill the requirements for
goods, utilities, works and services in such a manner, which can achieve value
to generate advantages1.
Question 2: Write down the nine (9) steps in developing policy according to the
organisational legislation and procedures?
The 9 steps are as follows:
i) Identification of Need: The requirement of developing such policy as per
organizational legislation and processes is to be identified.
ii) Identification of People taking Lead Responsibilities: Appropriate
person is to be identified, who can take lead responsibilities in the project
work.
iii) Gathering of Information: Accurate information is needed to be gathered
regarding legal responsibilities in this step.
iv) Drafting of Policy: The complexity of the policy is required to be analyzed
and length of the policy is to be undertaken2.
v) Consultation with Stakeholders: The policy should be discussed and
communicated with stakeholders such as staff and customers for

vi) Approval of Policy: The policy is being approved or finalized for ensuring
that the policy is being implemented on an effective manner.
vii) Consideration of Procedures being Needed: In this step, a checklist is
being taken into consideration if the processes are important or not.
viii) Implementation of the Policy: The policy is being implemented in this
step for supporting communication amongst staff and volunteers.
ix) Monitoring, Reviewing and Revising: In the final step, the policy is
needed to be monitored, reviewed and revised on a priority basis3.
Question 3: What are the possible barriers that can affect the implementation
process of policies and procedures? Write your answer in 150-200 words.
Few barriers, which can affect the entire implementation process of policies
and procedures are as follows:
i) Non Pragmatic Strategy: This is the first barrier that can be extremely
problematic for the procedure of implementation of policies. The strategic
direction requires to be wrapped properly for understanding the vision.
ii) Extra Focused on Immediacy: Being extra focused on immediacy is the
second barrier in this process of implementation. The organizational leaders
often get preoccupied with all types of urgent things and lack of a strong
strategy does not provide proper framework.
iii) Lack of Commitment from Middle: A commitment conflict from the
middle is yet another significant barrier that affects implementation process of
policies4.

iv) Lack of Annual Reviewing: When the policies are not being reviewed
annually, it becomes a subsequent barrier to the process. Thus, it is needed to
consider that under every circumstance, such reviewing is done periodically.
Question 4: Discuss how the organisational systems and procedures can relate to
sustainability? Write your answer in 100-150 words.
The organizational systems and processes could easily and promptly be
related to sustainability. The organizations are not restricted to deployment of
sustainability strategies that provide these systems with major cultural as well
as economic advantages, obtained through the environmental responsibilities.
By successfully deploying the sustainability strategies, the organizational
processes and systems can eventually integrate long term profitability with the
subsequent efforts for protecting business environment. The systems even
become sustainable after providing them with the opportunities for
achievement of the traditional competitive advantages as well as cost
leadership5. Market differentiation is possible with this aspect and strategies
are being achieved without much complexity.
Question 5: What are the stakeholders and how they contribute in policy making
process? Write your answer in 150-200 words.
Stakeholders are independent parties with whom every individual make
deposits majorly for a business. A stakeholder is a specific person, social
group, organization and even a society, which comprises of a significant stake
within the business. Hence, a stakeholder could either be external or internal
