INTRODUCTION
Workplace transformation a process of rethinking of the flexible working environment in
order to accept new workers, technology and processes within a working environment. It consists
of exploring of the office plans, budgets and rendering. The external event through which
workplace transformation has changed is covid-19 pandemic (Alam, and Parveen, 2021). As this
helps many of the organisation in becoming digitally and also it has impacted negatively to most
of the organisation. The present report includes the organisation called Amazon which is one of
the e- commerce company and it includes artificial intelligence, digital streaming, cloud
computing etc. it is regarded as one of the biggest company of US in information technology. It
was founded in the year 1994 by Jeff Bezos. This report includes project management plan,
literature review, research methodology and data analysis part.
Project aim and objectives
Aim: “To identify the ways through which workplace transformation is done during covid 19 as
an external event. A study on Amazon.”
Objectives:
To determine the concept of transformation in workplace.
To identify the ways through which workplace transformation is done during covid 19 as
an external event in Amazon working environment.
To analyse the challenges faced by managers of Amazon while using workplace
transformation strategies.
Project management plan
Scope: The scope of this project is much wider because workplace transformation in
Amazon is due to the external event which helps the organisation in enhancing their
productivity in becoming digitally (Guo, Ergovan, and Seitl, 2021). This develop their
profitability and customer satisfaction is well.
Time: Time is related when the limit that is needed to complete this project. Within this
research, researcher has using Gantt chart and WBS in order to complete it an effective
time period. It is about 10 weeks complete the research.

Communication: Communication channels within this research includes both verbal and
nonverbal methods because in verbal communication information has collect the
information from employees and in nonverbal method is information is collected through
questionnaire which is used to provide answers.
Cost: Cost is related with the amount which is spend by the investigator in order to
collect and conduct this research project (Wardak, Vallis, and Bryant, 2021). The amount
spends on primary research is £600 and the secondary research it is £200.
Resources: The resources which are needed for completion of this project are pen, paper
responses, time limit, books and journals. These are needed to collect data and
information in perfect manner and complete at a given time period.
Gantt chart
It refers to a type of bar chart that helps in determining relationship among real time activity
understand standard schedule. It consists of two Axis horizontal and vertical that is having a
legend of indicating status of work and activities according to the plan management so that
project could be completed within a shorter time period (Jadczyk, Wojakowski, and Shreenivas,
2021). Chart includes list, timelines etc which has in executing the project management functions
such as initiation, planning and controlling etc.

WBS
Work breakdown structure is that which divides all the activities into various sections and allow
all the activities into the manageable task. It helps the researcher in completing research on
definite time period and it involves or roles and responsibilities performed by the investigator
(Elsersy, Sherif, and Hassanien, 2021). It includes accurate sources, cost and risk etc.
Literature review
According to Trawnih, Yaseen, and Jaber, (2021) Workplace transformation is regarded as
one of action for the team that helps in supporting within a workplace strategy for aim of an
organisation. It is important to have a workplace transformation within at working environment
because it helps in adopting new normal and changing in processes, techniques and technology
of the business. within current organization of Amazon, they are changing according to the
dynamic nature of market and developing updated technologies in their business environment.
From the views of Poenaru, (2021) There are certain ways through which workplace
transformation is done at a time of covid-19 as an external event in Amazon company. They
have given a remote work to employees in order to provide them flexibility at their home so that
they could walk anytime in order to support customers and feeling comfortable. This event has

transformed employee’s performance and productivity and resulting and enhancing their
motivation as well. It also develops stress among employees because employees are working
24/7 hours and they are not even getting any rewards as well. Amazon is working towards
providing growth opportunities to their employees, as many of the employees towards enhancing
their productivity.
According to the views of Patil, (2021), there are various challenges which are being faced
by managers of Amazon while implementing workplace transformation strategies within their
working environment, data and security issues because many of the organisations are moving
towards being digital and for that there are online payments and online shopping which consists
of customers data. if this data is leaked then this may result in severe risk for customers and
organisation both. So, this becomes an issue for the organisation in order to save their data and
create security for their customers. On the other hand, there are productivity issues because many
of the employees are working at remote work which results in creating more stress as they have
to work 24/7 hours which has reduces their motivation are they are also not getting enough
rewards or bonus for that (Namara, and Knijnenburg, 2021). This may result in becoming a
challenge, these could be considered by the managers of Amazon and develop the strategies
according to them in order to solve their issues and problems.
Research methodology
Research method: Research method consisting of two types. These are qualitative and
quantitative research method. Qualitative method involves non-numerical information
about a specific topic. On the other hand, quantitative information includes numerical
information which involves charts and graphs. Within this research, investigator is
making use of quantitative research resulting in getting numerical and practical
information. there is a use of questionnaire survey which consists of close ended
questions.
Data collection: Data is collected through two different methods (Hamilton, Swart, and
Stokes, 2021). These are the primary and secondary research methods. Primary method is
consisting of numerical and primary data which involves survey, graphs and charts in
order to collect data in effective manner. on the other hand, secondary data collection
method is that which brings theoretical information by analysing books and newspapers.
In this research investigator is using both of these methods. Primary data is collected

through questionnaire survey which consists of close ended questions. It involves use of
charts, tables and graphs. On the other hand, secondary data is collected through

are used in order to get valid and reliable information.
Sampling: The sample size method within this research is 30 employees of Amazon. In
this project probability random sampling is used in order to select a sample for providing

From the above project, it is concluded that workplace transformation is most essential for
the organisation nowadays in order to change their technique, process and workers. Amazon is
providing effective training programs to their employees in order to bring them at a time of
covid-19 pandemic as an external event. They have listened to the employees needs and try to
fulfil them. They are given a remote work which has provide employees a flexibility of working
at any time at their home. Further there are some of the challenges which are being faced by
managers of Amazon such as data security issues and issues in productivity of employees in
organisation which are to be considered in mind at a time of workplace transformation. At a time
of covid-19 pandemic any of the employees feel stress which could impact their productivity and
their performance. Keeping in mind these challenges and managers have to adopt the strategy so
that employees work more effectively in order to achieve organisational goals.

Some of the recommendations made to Amazon company is that company should work on
transformation techniques. As they are already using latest technologies in the working
environment but they should have to look on new technologies that are coming in the market and
what their competitors are using in order to gain competitive advantage within market. It is too
recommended to the organisation that they should work on the training programs and rewards to
their employees in order to motivate them and which could enhance their productivity. Also on
the other hand, if customers receive proper products and services of their company, then they
could get more attracted towards the brand and results in purchasing more items from their
company. For that, managers should have to adopt new and latest techniques and develop
according to changes in the market.

consent all those respondents. Some of activities are undertaken in this are project management
plan, literature review and data analysis. Also, there is a use of Gantt chart and wbs.

The problems which have emerged at a time of this project are lack of financial resources and
lack of time management. But these have tackled through use of secondary research which
requires less cost and using of WBS and Gantt chart.
