Affordable and Clean Energy, Water and Sanitation has become the need of the world
and in this condition, 41 countries are at the verge of depleting their natural resources and are
currently experiencing the water and energy stress in their country (Simpson & Berchner,
2017). Indian, being the second most populated country in the world, several primary
concerns such as depletion of natural resources, water depletion and open defecation are
among the few of the aspects that are affecting the dense 1.35 Billion population of this
country (Meher & Parabhoi, 2017). As mentioned in the report of the World Bank, within the
above mentioned concerns, sanitation and fresh water are two of the primary concerns that
India is currently concerned about as more than 5000 million people still practices open
defecation and 21% of the population are unable to obtain fresh drinking water in their
lifetime (data.gov.in, 2019).
Therefore, it is the reason that Affordable and Clean Energy, Water and Sanitation are
few of the primary concerns that Indian government should be concerned about (Simpson &
Berchner, 2017). However, the complication that could affect the achievement off these
aspects are the increased rate of illiteracy and lack of public awareness about sanitation,
hygiene and clean water (Amit & Sasidharan, 2019). Further social discrimination due to
huge gap between rich and poor people, and stigma among the mediocre families that are
unable to avail higher standard of lifestyle could be another reason that hinders these
populations to accept the new and modified lifestyle. Therefore, this leads the population
suffer from critical healthcare conditions (Meher & Parabhoi, 2017).

There are multiple initiatives that have been taken by the central government of India
for the hygiene and sanitation of the country and provide the people with effective aspects so
