contemporary tourism.
MAIN BODY
Briefly discuss the development of tourism and explain its negative and positive economic,
socio-cultural and environment affects.
Tourism is the world's biggest and quickest growing industry. The tourism industry
related areas are modify day by day rapidly which are dynamic in nature. Contemporary tourism
is an international concept present a new fresh approach to the understanding of tourism. It
involve some problems like modification of world order, destination commercialisation, ethics of
tourism and low tourism. Tourism is helpful in the enhancing the foreign exchange reserve and
also participate in improvement of gross domestic product and services.
The improvement in tourism industry is the procedure of beginning of a tourism industry
in a particular location. This improvement consider the program and plan of action to motivate
maximum number of people who want to travel on a specific location. This industry mainly

environment of location is suitable and climate is also favourable. In the reference of these
factors tourism industry is also impacted by the country economy, destination history, culture,
religious and technology of the country.
The importance of good infrastructure of economy refers to the status of hotels and
transportation is low cost for moving one destination to another destination and food quality may
help in improvement of tourism industry. Travellers most like the destinations where they
welcomed and they made feel like their own house. The quality of service, staff, management,
accommodation, hospitality etc are plays vital role in the improvement of the tourism industry.
The improvement or success of tourism is mainly based on physical factors like climate,
environment and ecology of nations as well as on human factors like accessibility, affordability,
safety, guidance, hospitality etc., for that reasons an economy should always strive to develop its
infrastructure fully (Slocum, S Dimitrov, and Webb, 2019).
This industry majorly impact the economy of any country by enhancing tax returns,
standard of living which also rise the opportunities for the employment. Local products of the
specific market got introduce and economic events gets driven up due to rise in tourism. Tourism
industry impact the economy of the nation in both ways positive and negative. A positive impact
of tourism industry, it increase the spending power of the travellers which increase the revenue
of the country in comparing to its expenditures (Fang 2020).
In the economy there is only a circulation of the funds generated from various sources. It
helps in increasing the economy activities by providing many opportunities such as greater
employment. By providing greater tourism experiences to the tourists it helps to increase the
tourism sector. The multiplier effect of the tourism on the economy is about the circulation of
the money spend by the tourists through a nation's economy. The other positive impact of the
tourism on the economy is that the spread and recognition of local culture among the other
country's domiciles. It helps in increasing local art and cultures.
There is always a another side of the coin. Same here tourism also has negative impact on
the economy. One of the negative impact of the tourism is leakage effect. Leakage effect can be
considered as the loss of revenue generated through the tourism activities to the other nation's
economies. It can affect the country's economy through seven methods. Many enterprises
manipulate their cost to show the high costs in order to reduce their tax liabilities. This can be a
major loss of the income for a country (Ito and Higham 2020).

Another terrible impact of the tourism is the increase the use of natural resources of the
country. As the resources are limited but their users are increasing day by day which causes the
excessive usage of the resources. Resources should not be used excessively otherwise it will
impact the environment badly (Arikan, and Ünsever, 2020).
Tourism can be used as an important tool to increase the awareness regarding
environment and its factors. There is always a requirement to make aware the people about out
nature and environment to preserve them for long term. It helps to ensure the protection of
natural resources so that they can be used by upcoming generations. The concept of
sustainability underpin the measures to keep natural resources sustainable for longer period.
With the use of the tourism as a tool, it can help to aware the local people about keeping
resources sustainable by making efficient and effective use. The another positive impact of the
tourism on the environment is that it helps to influence the people regarding biodiversity
protection activities. Tourism can help the countries having high biodiversity in order to provide
knowledge about their conservation and protection (Latip and et.al., 2018).
Negative impact tourism of the environment factor-
The tourism wastage the water in hotels, at the time of bathing and swimming pools. At
the time of vacation they have used more water that result of shortage of the water and affect of
local people they have not enough water to full fill their basic needs. The shortage of water has
also impact on the workers they are not grow the crops. The big hotels uses groundwater redirect
so that the well become drying. The another negative impact is that increase in the pollution
because they over uses the natural resources. The land is mostly affected to the activities of
tourism that it leads to soil erosion (Müller 2019).
Tourism may have positive and negative impact on the social and culture. The positive
impact that the more money has invested on the local heritage, to providing services of
foreigners that they increases education facility, good life of local people. To providing better
facility of foreigners that they increasing employment opportunities and there is no need to go in
another cities for the work. They focuses to sell the product which is hand made so that
foreigners to buy the product easily at the higher cost. The another positive impact is that
increases the community facilities and services, that these services are used by local people
(Soldatenko, D and Backer, 2019). They indicate the value of natural and historical places so
that the local people feeling of proud of national heritage. The tourism have participated of some

festivals that they inspire the people to maintain their local culture (Hitchcock, King, and
Parnwell, 2018).
The negative impact on the social culture on the diverting labour because they focuses the
craft products and hand made items. They also effect the health on the local people related to
crime levels, risk of diseases transmission. They are well off in comparison to the local unskilled
people that greed of local people to rack the money. The tourism focuses on the nuclear family
and decreases the relationship of joint family (Capocchi, and et.al., 2020). The local people
compares themselves with the foreigners and want to adopt the habits such as smoking, drinking
and gambling and illegal activity. The tourism have come from different cities and living in
different life style . The want to spend more money and wrongly behaviour which is not accepted
in their own culture and this causes the local people migrate to another cities. The people are
losing individuality and increased their connectivity according to globalisation (Stoffelen,
2022).
CONCLUSION
As concluded by the above report, tourism industry is a fast growing industry which can
help to boost the overall country's growth. It requires specific strategies, procedures and
processes to attract the inhabitants of different countries to explore the local community, local
culture and the environment of a particular nation. In the developing world, this sector has shown
massive growth over the period. This can be used as a significant tool to boost the economy of
the country by generating more incomes. Nation should focus on this sector specifically as this
sector can prove a golden coin to raise the nation's economy. Various facilities and basis
amenities should provided to the tourists to provide them a valuable experiences. For the
environment also, it can help in increasing the awareness among citizens about the ecological
system and environment. Nation should try to control the limitations of tourism and increase its
benefits for overall growth of the nation.
