INTRODUCTION
Any gradual change or development in the idea, object and any situation is known as
evaluation. Evolution of tourism may be defined as the evolution or the modification in the
different functions of tourism. It is being analysed that the tourism industry is dynamic in nature.
Contemporary tourism is defined as a global approaches that shows some new approaches in
order to know the activities of tourism, ethics and issued in tourism and many more. A
significant role has been played by the tourism within the nation as it assist in the developing the
economy of the country. That's why tourism is being considered as one of the most important
element of the nation. Tourism not only help in generating billions of dollars in revenue for the
nation but also help in developing million of job opportunities. From the economic point of
view, tourism help in improving the economic condition of the country, from the environment
point of view tourism assist in improving the environmental management and planning. And
form the point-of-view of social culture tourism assist in bringing individuals together of various
background and culture(Grynko and et. al., 2022) . The following report is going to discuss
about the contemporary tourism development with positive and negative economic, social culture
and the environmental impact.
TASK
Contemporary tourism is defined as those global approaches which help in understanding
about tourism and issues and ethics in tourism through new approaches. The approaches which
are present in the contemporary tourism not only help in identifying all the threats and
complexities in the tourism industry today but also help in discussing all the approaches of risk
management that elaborate the flow of tourism in present and future. The factors which is liable
for growth of the contemporary tourism has been discussed below:-
Whether condition and climate is one of the factor which give rise to the contemporary
tourism. It has been observed that the demand of tourism has been affected and influenced by the
seasonality. So it must be important that all the places of tourism must be climate sensitive. The
inter annual climate of the nation affect the contemporary tourism in both positive as well as
negative manner(Jehan, Batool, Hayat and Hussain, 2022). The comfort of the tourist is highly
affected by the hot environment, unseasonable cold, dryness or storms and dense rain etc. The
growth of contemporary tourism includes the Historical and Cultural factors which are very

crucial. The development of the traditions and the reviving of culture and values also affect the
contemporary tourism. The local population of lift up their culture by promoting cultural as well
as historical heritage. The another most important element that assist in growth of the
contemporary tourism is religious and spiritual. The worship location and religious places helps
in attracting lots of tourist which ultimately help in the development of the contemporary
tourism. These sites act as as a meeting ground for most of visitors. These types of cultural and
religious places not only help in removing the barrier but also act as a bridge between the people
of different community(Wang and et. al., 2022).
Positive and negative economic impact of tourism
The positive economic impact of tourism is that, this help in attracting more and more investing
activities and extra income in the country. According to the research it has been analyse that
around £106 billion has been contributed by the tourism of England within the economy of
United Kingdom. Along with this, tourism within the nation almost generate 2.6 million jobs
opportunities. In 2011, around 2,80,880 VAT registered business has been done with in the UK
by the tourism sector. This business comprise of food, drink, accommodation, transport, travel
agencies, different cultural functions and many more. As per the research it has been analyse
that the British resident spent around £19.5 billion on the overnight home trips(Santos And et.
al., 2022) High standard of life to the local people and increase in their wealth is the another
positive economic impact of tourism. The purchasing power of the local people has been
increase because of the increase in the employment opportunities and earning of the people. It
has been analyse that because of tourism the United Kingdom per capital income has been
increases form 32546 to 333763. This ultimately result in improving their standard of living and
wealth.
The negative economic impact of tourism is that, the employment opportunities which have
been generated because of tourism within the nation are mostly seasonally and poorly paid. The
jobs which have been developed because of tourism within the UK is for a specific period of
time. Due to this the earning of the local people has been affected in a very bad manner. Another,
crucial negative economic impact related to tourism, the prices of the goods and services has
been increased by the owner of the local shops in UK(Stojanović, 2022). They thought that in
comparison to the local people tourist are more wealthy which develops a myth in the mind of
tourist(Şengel And et. al., 2022)

Positive and negative environmental impact of tourism
The positive environmental impact of the contemporary tourism is that the flow of
international money is grow within the country by which natural resources can be managed
effectively. Increase in the number of tourist within the UK increase the flow of foreign currency
which give assistance in successfully manage the heritage, water, land, bio-diversity
conservation and many more. Government of UK released 25 year of environmental protection
plan in 2018 in order to protect and manage the crises of natural resources. The development of
the contemporary tourism also help in conservation practices of natural resource. This also being
considered as an important positive environmental impact. The practices of conserving the
natural resources may be defined as the process of utilizing all the natural resources in a very
effective manner. With in the United Kingdom, people who have full knowledge of local wildlife
and their habitats has been hired as a park rangers. They focus on conserving the natural
resources. This increases the proper utilization of natural resources so that the future generation
experience these in proper manner(Schänzel, 2022).
The excessive use of resources such as water , local , land is the negative environment impact
of the tourism. The most precise resources which are available on earth is fresh water. As the
number tourist increases in United Kingdom, the consumption of water resource has increased
by tourism industry. Tourism industries use water for the hotels, pools , golf courses, personal
use of tourist and many more. The water consumption grown up by 440 litres per day in the
summer season, this is almost double. In addition to this, tourist also create pressure on the
domestic resources. The another negative environmental effect of tourism is that this increases
the pollution. Pollution may be of many types such as air and water pollution, solid waste, noise
pollution and many more. In the Snow Donia national park of United Kingdom around 76000
people has been entered in the season of winter. Due to this, around 70 % noise pollution has
been increases with in the nation. In addition to this, the cruise ship of the ST. Mary island in
UK produced almost 70000 tons of solid during the season(Sin, Mostafanezhad and Cheer, eds.,
2022)
Positive and negative social-culture impact of tourism
The positive social-culture impact of tourism is that, this remove all the barriers and increases
the cross culture interaction within the nation. Due to this local culture, art, tradition and many

more has been maintain in proper manner. The government of the UK paid more emphasis on the
on preserving the local culture, tradition and heritage because of increase in the tourism. The
most important element of tourism in UK is culture. Tourism provide various types of means
which help in enhancing the culture and income. This not only strengthen the culture heritage but
also strengthen the cultural production and creativity in the nation. Stimulates the national pride
is also considered the positive social culture impact of tourism. Different areas of UK has been
visited by the tourist which give assistance to them to know about the culture and promote peace
within the nation (Silvestrova And et. al., 2022)
The negative social-culture impact of tourism is the loss of the cultural. It is being determined
that, when the tourist has been entertain by the local resident of UK, the local people adopts their
needs as well as their attitude and values they start following them. According to the research it
has been observed that the Swindon community of United Kingdom not only adopts the
behaviour but also adopt the fashion of young Gurungs. This is done all because of tourism.

social culture and environment effect has been concluded through proper instance. It is very
important for the tourism industry to create effective rules for the workers so that tourism has
been increases within the nation.
