Canada-China Trade Relations: A Study

This assignment explores the potential benefits of a free trade agreement (FTA) between Canada and China. lacks a comprehensive investments agreements in the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The article
evaluates the anticipated economic influence and its challenges. For instance China is viewed to
experience an enormous urbanization and the middle classes will develop rapidly thus needing
management of wealth and any other financial services in addition to advanced technology,
environment enhancements and even and education also required by the Canadians. Canada
should not be excluded in such opportunities obtained with rise of demands.. According to
Dobson, (2011) analysis of the three relative competitiveness of China in the global market: the
comparative advantage of China is relatively low in industries across which Canada is leading.
Canada is more Competitive in key sectors where China is not. Several Canadian companies are
thriving in China as at 2009. On the other hand, China is more competitive in areas such as
automobile sectors, than Canada. The author advocates for a partnership between China and
Canada to bridge the existing demands from both sides.

commerce. It links businesses and the federal government and also shows the influence on

The author Beatty, (2010) digs into the possibilities of obtaining business expansions in China if
Canada was to engage in a bilateral business with China. She states that China has already
influenced the businesses in Canada as it forms the source of consumer goods and inputs not
excluding a logistics and production platform. China forms a large market not yet untapped, the
Canadian business items. China is soon emerging the second-best economy. The author (Beaty)
states that the business community in Canada has proposed that the country requires a
strengthened business partnership with China to increase the business opportunity and market

comes because of the fast-growing economy of China. This action towards the partnership would
be inclined towards developing the economy of Canada. Some of the problems they would have

China, getting them a chance to enforce IP protection for benefit the entire bilateral trade: the IP
