TEAM BUILDING
Team building is determined as the effective skill which helps individual in performing their
business activity effectively within the company. This also provides support to the person in
accomplishing their predetermined goals and objectives with one another’s support. Business
managers or other superior managers takes range of initiatives for developing effective bond
among employees and also influence them to work collaboratively so that their goals can get
accomplished in rightful manner.
As being a supervisor in the London Underground, I have to have to handle whole team
working in the company and also ensure that all of my team members work freely and securely
at the site. By being a supervisor in my company it is my responsibility to develop positive
environment for workers where they feel comfortable and could also perform their work in
lucrative manner (Ohlert and Zepp, 2016). While talking about my own team building skill it can
be said that an quite good in this skill as I am able to influence my team workers to get
influenced towards the work and complete it effectively within the provided time frame. On the
basis of viewpoint presented by the author named as Lin and Shih, (2018), it can be said that
Tuckman building theory is an effective framework that provides guidance to the team members
about the development of team. As per this framework there are five stages such as forming,
storming, Norming, performing and adjourning which one by one reflects that how effectively
team formulates and further work collaboratively in order to bring success towards the company.
The respective author has further specified that none of the group starts performing their
activities or assigned work effectively from the initial stage only. Instead of this every team
requires some time for developing their personal bond with each team members and after its
complete formulation the respective team starts working effectively. Furthermore, it can be said
that growth of the team can be enhanced by the completion of each stage. Apart from this, it can
be said that effective team is considered as the one which more task focused and contributes in
the completion of organisational goals and objectives (Ellis, 2018).
By analysing Tuckman theory effectively, it can be said that it is one of the best theory
that could provide support any of the manager or supervisor like me while handling the overall
team. At the very first time, I have read about this theory in mu academic life where my teacher
has explained this to me but at that point of time I thought that this is only the theoretical concept
