reach out to a large population in the world4. Increasing internet use and the growth of mobile
and computer technology can be attributed to the increasing popularity of YouTube.
The increase in the number of users of YouTube has a corresponding increase in the
number of people earning from YouTube. The amount of revenue earned by the channel
annually ranges at an average of billion dollars a year. The channel, however, distributes earning
to the uploaders with a channel at the rate of $0.044 per view. Among the top earners from the
channel include individuals who earn an average of $12 million as per the year 2015 and 2016.
The top video in the year 2017 earned a total of 5.12 billion views. The number of views is a
significant value for the video earning a significant amount from uploads. The highest proportion
of its viewers are redirected from the Google sites and other related search engines attracting a
high population within a short period. Google ranks among the top search engines in the world,
and its linkage with YouTube produced a significant increase in the number of redirects to
YouTube. The region that has attracted the highest number of subscribers includes the United
States which has 167 billion subscribers ("YouTube as a Field: Life in a YouTube
Community,").
YouTube has made a linkage with PayPal which has seen success over the years. The
subscription has helped more clients to earn from the advertisements, and other content that is
displayed in the channel and their upload contributes to a significant amount in the channel.
According to Eisemann (2014), YouTube payment mode takes the cost per content method. In
this way, people tend to upload the content in a way that it will prompt more people to view the
adverts and hence the uploader earns from the video. In this regard, the strategic positioning of

the video will ensure that more people can watch the content and more revenue is earned per
item displayed. The amount paid to users via PayPal from YouTube averages at $27 a day while
the views may be millions in each day the number of people who click on the adverts is
significantly low making the payouts to be low. For instance in a 30 days period in 2018 a total
number of viewers subscribed to PayPal during the month was 202,000 however the amount that
was paid to the uploaders of content was only $812 the implication is. Therefore, strategic
positioning of the advert and adoption of new techniques need to be done to ensure that the
adverts are attractive to more people. PayPal has therefore offered an automated and faster way
for the clients to receive their payment from YouTube which makes it necessary for the
organization to coexist together in harmony. Subscribers to YouTube channel need to provide a
verified PayPal account to ensure that YouTube has a method of making the payouts to them,
therefore, linking the value of YouTube to the client5.

YouTube has contributed significantly to the economic situation of the subscribers. The channel
makes significant payouts to the subscribers on a daily basis; for instance, the current rate is
stated to be at $7.6 per 1000 views. The payouts are made at different rates and the people
subscribed to the channel can adjust their earnings based on the number of views made on their
uploads6. Consequently due to the known rates the advert needs to be clicked for the member to
earn the amount when viewers watch the content without any clicks on the adverts no amount
will be earned by the video. As a result of the high earnings made on YouTube the number of
payouts made in a year accumulates to an average of 6.5 billion dollars following the high
number of subscribers and viewers of the content in the year. According to the PayPal statistics,
the amount of money transacted from YouTube to PayPal in the form of the payouts amounts to
a total of $10000 annually, however, the amounts transacted through other vectors such as
Patreon is significantly leading to the high revenue earned in the different sections7.

Most people have preferred YouTube to other channels which have given it popularity when
compared to other channels. Content uploaders to YouTube have a channel or earning where the
cost is paid per content viewed. The subscribers, however, need to click on the advertisements
for the uploader to earn which makes them employ different strategies to prompt them to view
the advert. YouTube is a multibillion-dollar company with an annual earning averaging at
$8billion and making payouts of up to $6.5 billion to its clients based on the cost per view
strategy. The transactions are facilitated by the linkage between YouTube and PayPal as well as
other money platforms such as Patreon. The payout statistics from the sites are evidence of the
success that YouTube has to its subscribers making it a better place for not only viewing content
but also earning from the content uploaded.
