Question-   Per Unit Systems of Measurements in Power Systems

Experiment # 05 Per Unit Systems of Measurements in Power Systems Muhammad Zeeshan Khattak BSEE (18-22) Semester-06 Abstract—

This lab report explains the advantage of transformers when they are introduced in the power systems, they reduce the line losses by alternating the voltage at generation side to a high voltage level, thus line current is reduced so is the power loss. At the load end the step down transformer is introduced which step down the voltage to the original level. Also the per unit equivalent system ,where all quantities to be analyzed in the power system are expressed in terms of the base quantities, is much advantageous as the calculations are reduced and transformers get eliminated without any tiresome work.
